I'm a gamer of tabletop RPGs with no interest in LARPs or violent MMORPGs. I love FATE, FAE, GURPS and Hero system. I don't care for D&D; recent changes in D20 (i.e. those in the last 20 years) have not fixed the reasons I shifted to point-based systems. Recently, I've enjoyed solo TTRPGs. I'm still sorting out whether I consider myself a video-game "gamer." However, I do own over 500 games on Steam, plus the 1700+ Racial Justice bundle from itch.io and several other bundles, so... probably, yeah. I'm not sure I have ever played a triple-A game, though.

I'm also a filker, slashfic reader and occasionally writer, occultist of various interests (excluding Kaballah), Discordian, Feri initiate, and M-F office worker. I'm more of a science fiction fan than media fan. I joined FAPA in 2022 and I'd like others to join me there.

I post some fannish stuff, more meta than fic. I post a great deal of religious content, much of which is not noticeably religious to people of other spiritualities. I post some political stuff, which, again, may not be recognized as political by those who don't live in the SF Bay Area bubble. I post memes, but I try to keep them entertaining. I post rants on a variety of subjects.

I help manage indie_games, which I keep meaning to make more active. I also manage ebooks, which is about ebooks, ebook readers, and the software involved, and sps, which is for ebook reviews; both are very slow and have been for some time.

Eventually, I will probably come up with a Guide To Elf's Moods, Icons, & Preferred Commenting Protocols, as I gather many of the cool people have one of those. The short version is: all comments are welcome, even old posts, even off-topic comments. Hostile comments, especially from strangers, may be taken as attempts to entertain me and addressed accordingly, which means they may be deleted (if they're not entertaining) or shared with my friends on Discord (if they are).
