Perfect as your child’s first introduction to dance or for students who have already got several years of training under their belt! Our recreational classes are strict on technique and big on FUN!

Ballet

Our Ballet classes follow the Australian Conservatoire of Ballet syllabus (ACB). Students get to experience the beauty of classical Ballet, whilst developing their knowledge of the specific vocabulary and technique. The ACB syllabus is based on the Russian Method of training (Vaganova) which emphasizes correct placement, dynamics and performing quality. Students have the option to participate in Ballet Exams and attend intensive study periods to ensure they are developing at the highest possible standard.

Jazz

Jazz is an energetic and fun style, perfect for any student that has lots of energy to burn! In our jazz classes students will learn the foundations of dance technique whilst developing flexibility and strength. In jazz we also learn fun, high energy choreography to a range of music styles. Our Jazz classes follow the IDT syllabus to ensure excellence in the development of every Jazz Dancer!

Lyrical/Contemporary

A blend of ballet and modern dance. This style evolves from the center of the body, combined with precise leg work and fluidity of the torso. It encourages self expression, natural movement and story telling. Students in our Lyrical/Contemporary classes will learn a range of techniques including turns, leaps and jumps as well as floor movement and improvisation.

Acrobatics

Our Acrobatics classes focus on building the correct strength, flexibility and endurance in order to safely perform acrobatics skills. Students learn complex skills including handstands, cartwheels and forward rolls and as they build their strength and coordination progress to more advanced skills including no handed cartwheels, front flips and backflips and back handsprings. We follow the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus at EPA Dance and offer students the opportunity to join or Advanced Tumbling Program once they reach a required level.

Tap

A combination of old and modern tap styles, seen in many famous musical theatre numbers. This style requires focus,

discipline and commitment in order to build on and develop the precise technique required. Students excelling in this style may extend their training in our Tap exam classes where we follow the Glenn Wood Syllabus. We recommend starting this style early to easily progress to the advanced tap levels.

Musical Theatre /Broadway Jazz

A combo classes for our triple threats. Learn to Sing, Dance and Act in Musical Theatre and Broadway Jazz. Each lessons focuses on various elements of the Musical Theatre style. Students learn choreography from their favorite musicals and learn how to tell a story on stage. For our older dancers, classes are performed in chorus heels to provide an added challenge!

Aerial Hoop & Silk

Arguably the most exciting class we offer, Aerial Hoop & Silk classes allow students to perform a whole range of skills whilst hanging from the ceiling. We follow the Aerial Arts syllabus from Acrobatic Arts and during each class students focus on spinning, balancing and posture skills whilst building strength and flexibility to ensure they can progress to the most advanced Aerial levels.

Hip - Hop

Hip Hop is an energetic street dance style. It involves several different techniques including muscle isolations,

dance combinations and improvisation. Hip Hop can be interpreted in different ways by each student and

students are always encouraged to develop their own unique style.
