Our Editorial Approach

Explore Collective operates as an independent publisher. Content is researched and edited in-house, with a focus on accuracy and real-world conditions.

We prioritise:

  • First-hand exploration and photography where possible. In some scenarios (usually when we’ve just forgotten to take picture) we will use stock images or images licensed under CC-BY-NC 2.0. We will always try our best to use images of the location, however this isn’t possible 100% off the time.
  • Clear, practical visitor information
  • Seasonal and environmental context
  • Responsible travel and local awareness
  • Honest, experience-based writing rather than automated or aggregated content

Our guides are designed to be useful both for visitors planning trips and for readers discovering the places in Yorkshire & the Peak District for the very first time.

All articles are produced under the Explore Collective brand, with content created through direct engagement with the landscapes and locations featured.

All articles produced under the Explore Collective brand are built with a direct visitor/consumer point of view with content created through direct engagement with the landscapes and locations featured. We visit each location to determine “is this place worth visiting”.

We do not publish automatically generated listings or scraped directory content. Each page is intentionally developed to reflect real-world conditions, accessibility and our own visitor experience.

Where possible, updates are made to reflect seasonal changes or evolving access conditions that we are aware of.
