Burning DVDs CDs and Blurays is a really useful way to store media and make your own music or video discs. Sometimes it can even turn into a hobby! But the downside is always painfully clear- they don?t look great. A bland disc with a name scribbled on in marker just isn?t the same as a nicely printed disc. Thanks to software like exPressit it?s possible to print your own labels and box covers with ease for free.
exPressit is a very simple tool and you may not be impressed by the basic interface however it?s very easy to use and does the job well. You can print both labels and covers for CD DVD and Bluray with this software when combined with a label applicator. The software allows you to create your own artwork using predefined templates (so you don?t struggle to guess the correct size and shape). You have a collection of clipart to use or you can import your own. They even have some free covers on their online library. Text can be inserted easily in more or less any font plus it can work out the correct alignment and calibration. A very robust tool.
Slow and Steady
exPressit is not perfect and the old interface may annoy some users. It?s also quite slow running thanks to a Java foundation. Nevertheless it does what it does very well. Worth trying for free.
After saving your photos, videos, music, documents and other files on a blank CD, it comes in handy to be able to create a custom sleeve cover and booklet so that you can tell the CDs apart. exPressit comes as a great solution for just this.
With an intuitive interface that is easy to use, this program makes a series of tools and utilities available to you to create a variety of disc covers and booklets, not just for CDs but also for DVDs, minidiscs, video tapes, cassettes, etc.
ExPressit has been abandoned. I have it on my computer and it no longer prints CD labels if you try to use a background of any kind. I tried to troubleshoot it but found out that as of a couple of years ago, expressit by memorex is no longer supported. The note says they are "out of the CD/DVD labeling game. As for the program itself, I didn't hate it. I didn't love it but whatever, it worked for my needs. Good luck. Side note, the expressit site says to buy SureThing Disc Labeler as a replacement.

Plenty of flexibility. It made great looking labels. I like that it let me import my own backgrounds (from original album art). Pros: Easy image import. Playlist can be moved around the label and edited. Image cam be cropped and positioned as desired..
