About

We are a student-led movement at the University of Houston standing up for fairness, transparency, and the right of every student to have a say in how their fees are spent.

Every semester, UH students pay $260 in student service fees — more than $25 million each year. These funds support vital programs, organizations, and services across campus. By law, students have the right to representation in how these funds are allocated through the Student Fees Advisory Committee (SFAC).

Why We Exist

Recently, UH administration bypassed the law by handpicking students to fill vacant SFAC seats instead of allowing students to elect their own representatives. This decision silences the student voice, undermines shared governance, and erodes trust between students and university leadership.

We believe that:

  • Student representation should be chosen by students, not appointed by administrators.
  • Decisions over millions of dollars in student fees must follow state law.
  • Transparency and accountability are essential for a fair and thriving campus community.

What We’re Fighting For

  • Fair Elections: Students must regain their right to elect SFAC representatives.
  • Student Voice: SFAC should reflect the diverse perspectives of our student body.
  • Accountability: UH must reverse illegal appointments and comply with state law.

Our Vision

We love the University of Houston. Our campus is one of the most diverse in the country, a Hispanic-Serving Institution, and a home for first-generation, international, and working students who balance jobs, classes, and family responsibilities.

We envision a UH where:

  • Student voices are respected.
  • Governance is transparent.
  • Every dollar of student fees is spent with integrity and student input.
