Windows ARM64 native support

Hello,

It would be nice to add Windows ARM support! QuickLook currently runs through Prism emulation mode (translated from x64), but the experience would be smoother if a native build were available.

Over the last year, the introduction of Windows 11 Arm-based laptops has transformed the PC landscape, and laptops with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon® X Series processors represent a rapidly growing segment of the PC market.

It would be helpful to identify which dependencies or plugins are currently incompatible with ARM64, so their status can be tracked and relevant issues opened upstream if needed.
Also, ARM users would be glad to help with testing if that can support future development.

i'm not technical at all so I don't know how viable this is, but I did stumble across this MS article about Arm64EC, it sounds like it would help with the dependencies part by running those through emulation while what is possible to be recompiled for Arm runs native

As a key dependency of QuickLook, LAVFilters currently does not appear to have plans to support ARM64.

It is a shame, I have compiled the solution and it is working but the video.

In the meanwhile, the same option of microsoft powertoys for arm64 is working perfectly and rarely, very similar.

ARM64 support has already been added to the roadmap. Since video playback support requires time—due to the migration from DirectShow’s LAV Filters to the VLC library—please stay tuned.

Great news!! I have to upgrade the framework due to Heltrix update. My fork is totally functional.

Instead of VLC, consider mpv, based on the much more mature ffmpeg and they have Windows ARM binaries/libraries. mpv is also very performant.

mpv on Windows ARM64: No official precompiled binaries are available. Therefore, it is not considered for now.
