Description

Would someone be willing to expand on the various settings registered on Settings → Reading, and how they’re used by the feature, to ensure we’re setting them appropriately for our environment?

This would be a great inclusion for the FAQ.

Why is the difference in the settings? Is it correct?
Selectors without dot:
Header Selector
Main Selector

Selectors with dots:
Post Title Selector
Post Thumbnail Selector
Post Content Selector

Without dots, they are type (i.e. tag name, element) selectors: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/CSS/Reference/Selectors/Type_selectors

A good reminder that this UI is too low-level and not suitable for being proposed for core.

Here's a couple questions that you could consider when deciding if there's room for improvement of the settings descriptions (or settings themself):

"Post Thumbnail Selector" - is this for if/when the post thumbnail is displayed while viewing a single post? Is it for archive views?

Does Post mean only actual "posts", or does it also mean Pages and/or custom post types

What do any of these "selector" settings actually DO? It's not clear to me why I'd want to go figure out what these are in my theme.
