I think it would be better to upgrade Mbed TLS to the latest version 3.6.5 (current version in V = v3.6.3.1).

Mbed TLS 4.0.0 is new, while the 3.6 version is a long-term support (LTS) branch (supported until at least March 2027) => https://github.com/Mbed-TLS/mbedtls/releases/tag/mbedtls-3.6.5

Personally speaking, I think this could be bad (It's not a terrible idea; switching to version 3.6.5 actually makes sense) since version 4 removes several functions, so if people start using these functions that are currently deprecated, it would possibly be more problematic.
