We do not treat applications as paperwork.
We treat them as positioning exercises.
The objective is not admission alone —
but clarity of direction.
Academic, intellectual, and professional.
Our role is closer to a mentor than an agent. We invest in your direction — not your transaction.
We work on the architecture of your candidacy — long before essays are written. Applications are the final expression, not the starting point.
Every student we work with leaves with a sharper understanding of their academic and professional trajectory — regardless of outcome.
ImpactGrad is advised by alumni of leading universities and scholarship recipients — individuals who have themselves navigated competitive admissions and funding processes.
Our guidance is grounded in first-hand experience, not second-hand interpretation.
"Capable students often underperform in competitive admissions, not because of ability, but because they lack structured and honest guidance."
Kalyan Janagam founded ImpactGrad after recognising a persistent gap in global university admissions: many capable students fall short not due to a lack of talent, but because they lack access to the right information, mentorship, and strategic guidance.
His perspective is shaped by an academic journey across Singapore, Sydney, and London, including a Master’s in Social and Public Policy at the London School of Economics and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, where he studied in internationally diverse classrooms alongside students from more than 50 nationalities. These experiences provided him with a close understanding of how leading universities evaluate intellectual potential, academic direction, and long-term promise.
Through working with students across multiple countries, Kalyan observed a recurring challenge: applicants often approach admissions as a process of assembling credentials, rather than developing a coherent intellectual trajectory aligned with institutional expectations. ImpactGrad was built in response to this gap.
Rather than operating as a traditional admissions consultancy, ImpactGrad functions as a mentorship-driven advisory platform, connecting aspiring students with mentors and alumni from leading global institutions such as Oxford, Cambridge, LSE, Harvard, and other top universities.
"Great applications are not built overnight — they emerge from years of intellectual curiosity, purpose, and clarity of direction."
