1. Teams must be composed of between 4 and 5 members. There will be one prize per team member, regardless of the team size.
2. Teams must consist exclusively of university students or recent graduates who are not organisers, judges, sponsors or in any other privileged position at the event.
3. All team members must be accepted to the hackathon by the Organisation and registered on the online platforms or forms used before and during the event.
4. All team members must be reachable by any member of the organising team during the event.
5. Teams may seek advice and support from organisers, staff, sponsors, mentors and other persons related to INTERHACK BCN.
6. All project work must be carried out during the hackathon (within the official 36-hour window).
7. Teams may use an idea they had before the event.
8. Teams may work on ideas that have already been done. Solutions do not need to be "innovative", though this is a plus valued by the jury.
9. Teams may work on an idea they have previously worked on, provided they do not reuse previous code.
10. Teams may use open-source libraries, frameworks or code in their projects. Developing a project before the event and releasing it as open source for the sole purpose of reusing it during the hackathon goes against the spirit of these rules and is not permitted.
11. Adding new features to existing projects is allowed. Judges will only consider new functionality introduced during INTERHACK BCN when determining the winners.
12. Teams must stop working once the official time is up. However, small bug-fixes to programs or documents are permitted. Making substantial changes or adding new features after time is up is not allowed.
13. Projects that violate the Code of Conduct are not permitted.
14. Teams may be disqualified from the competition at the Organisation's discretion. Grounds may include, but are not limited to: breaking the Competition Rules, breaking the Code of Conduct, or other unsportsmanlike conduct.
