Liz (Korean: 리즈; Japanese: リズ) is a South Korean singer under Starship Entertainment. She is a member of the South Korean girl group IVE.
Early Life & Education[]
Liz was born on November 21, 2004, in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, Jeju Island, Jeju, South Korea. She has one sibling - a younger brother born in 2007.[4]
For her education, Liz was first at a student at Gwangnyeong Elementary School before transferring to and graduating from Halla Elementary School. Similarly, although first enrolled at Halla Middle School, she later transferred to and graduated from Unbuk Middle School. Liz ultimately dropped out of her high school, Cheongdam High School, and instead received her high school diploma after passing her High School Equivalency Exam.
Career[]
Pre-Debut[]
In December 2017, prior to joining an agency as a trainee, Liz appeared in the music video for Taeyeon's single "This Christmas".
In summer 2019, Liz participated in Starship Entertainment's 'PEPSI Summer Open Audition'. According to a member of Starship's rookie development team, Liz's vocal talent and visuals were "overwhelming".[5] Moreover, the same staff member recalled Liz's eagerness when introducing herself despite her shy personality. Ultimately, Liz passed her audition and joined Starship's trainee system.
From her joining Starship Entertainment as a trainee to her debut with IVE, Liz trained for approximately 2 years.
November–December 2021: Debut with IVE[]
On November 6, 2021, Liz was revealed as the fourth member of Starship Entertainment's girl group IVE.[6] The group debuted on December 1 with their first single album "Eleven" and its title track of the same name.
2023: "Nobody"[]
On November 6, 2023, YouTube channel M:USB announced that a member from (G)I-DLE, aespa and IVE each will collaborate on a digital single which will serve as a promotional song in South Korea's ongoing bid to have the city of Busan selected as the site for the '2030 World Expo'. The song, titled "Nobody", was released on November 16.[7] On November 10, Liz was confirmed as the second artist and IVE's representative for the collaboration.[8]
2024: First OST release[]
Liz released her first-ever solo OST, titled "Love Your Enemy OST Part. 7: Summer", on December 15, 2024, as part of the original soundtrack for the tvN drama series Love Your Enemy.

- Liz chose her stage name as the shortened version of the name Elizabeth, which is the name of the main character of the novel Pride and Prejudice. In addition to liking the name, Liz says the name reflects her wanting to be elegant and have high self-esteem, much like the aforementioned character.

- Liz has a very shy and quiet personality, especially when you first get to know her.[12][13]
