The best way to find journals articles in print or electronically is by using one of the journal databases the library subscribes to. Databases can be used to find articles on a particular topic or subject. They can also be used to locate a print or full-text electronic copy of an article you already have a citation for.
In general, if you are unsure which database to use to find articles, click on the Databases A-Z link in the Accessing Databases section of this page. For assistance with identifying appropriate databases for your research or assignment, visit the Reference Desk, located on the second floor of the library. You may also contact the Reference Department by phone at 773-995-2235 (x2235).
Visit the Databases A-Z page for a complete list of library databases.

The Chicago State University Library purchases online access to electronic databases for members of the CSU community (i.e., students, faculty, staff, and administrators). When accessing library databases from off campus, it is necessary that you verify that you are currently affiliated with the university by logging in to the databases. This requires a CSU email account.
Your user name is the same as your CSU email account user name. It is the first part of your e-mail address, that is, everything before the @ symbol. The password required for off-campus access is the same password you use for your CSU e-mail account. The user name and password you use for email, Cougar Connect, and Moodle are the same.
If you do not have a CSU e-mail account or have forgotten your account information, please visit the IT Help Desk located on the first floor of the library. The Help Desk can be reached by phone at 773-995-3963 (x3963) or 773-995-3667 (x3667).
