LAJR, who’s identified by many as a versatile lyricist, songwriter and ghostwriter knew at an early age that he was destined for a life in music. He was born and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Heavily influenced by multiple genres of music which includes Dancehall, Hip-Hop and reggae, they fuse to enhance an already unorthodox writing style and word-play.
Though raise in a very violent community ‘Olympic Garden’, LAJR was gifted with the life of a praying mother by his side, sisters who played a major role in him identifying the role of men from boys and a very protective father. LAJR developed the passion for music at a very tender age during his junior days at ST. Patrick’s Primary School where he was well recognised and praised for his athleticism, the ability to create drama pieces, his ability to create music and his courage to perform at School events.
LAJR deeply connected with music during his senior years at the Penwood High School. As he matured, he became a better writer. He would learn how to formulate his lyrics very cleverly and with the fusion of music which influenced him, his transitions between the flavours of each genre evolved so unique that it would grab the attention of every individual within the proximity to hear.
LAJR started his music catalog as INK XL releasing several music while working with Kingston 11 Production and Spyral Records. He was also featured on the album ‘Dweet’ by TBwoy in 2017 on the track entitled Malaiti Remix (feat. Ink Xl)
