Film Photography

I am constantly trying to find visually pleasing compositions and colors.

All-time Favorite

My favorite work is the above photo of DDP in Seoul. That’s not to say that this is the most artistically sophisticated photo that I have taken over the years. I adore this image because I succeeded in capturing beauty in a generic everyday location. As a resident of Seoul, I have been to the DDP countless times but have always failed to capture it in a way that pleased me. And because the place was so familiar to me, I became more and more numb towards the potential subjects around me. However, on a recent photowalk, I finally found this beautiful composition. I waited about half-an-hour until all the tourists were out of the frame and took the shot. Capturing good images in unfamiliar places is relatively easy. However, making a good photo in a generic location is challenging. With this photo, I feel like I have overcome such difficulty.

Portrait Photography

This is a collection of portraits that I have taken both inside and outside the studio. There are countless elements that take part in creating a good portrait. Such complexity is what makes portrait photography so challenging yet enjoyable.
