Eligibility
  1. Teams with more than 4 people are not eligible to receive prizes.
    1. If you would like to work in a group with more than 4 people, your project may still be judged so that you can receive feedback and/or an honorable mention however you are not eligible to receive a prize.
  2. You must be at least 13 to participate in MinneHack.
  3. Your project must have been created entirely at this event. 
  4. You cannot involve other people outside of the hackathon in your project.
  5. Any member of a winning team that is not present for the award ceremony is not eligible to receive a prize. (This only applies to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place, and the popular choice prizes.)
  6. Any judge that feels your project does not adhere to the prompt will give you a 0 on their score card for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes.
  7. Discussing solutions and ideas with hackers outside of your group is allowed. Hackathons are about learning as well as competition.

Final submissions are due at 2:00 PM on Sunday 26th of January.

Popular Choice

MinneHack will be having a prize based on a popular vote. Voting is in a “+1” style and 

Event Rules
  1. Respect all other people at the event and their property.
  2. You must be appropriately clothed at all times.
  3. There will be a designated sleeping time from 12:30 AM to 7:00 AM, during this time, please be respectful of those sleeping.
  4. No hate speech.
  5. No sexual harassment.
  6. No violence.
  7. No intoxication.
  8. No excessive gaming.
  9. If a staff person or volunteer asks you to stop doing something, you must do so.
  10. Be respectful of the MLH/ACM hardware lab.
  11. Follow the MLH code of conduct.
  12. Follow all UMN rules and regulations.

 

Any violations of the rules or the MLH code of conduct may result in removal from the event, disqualification for receiving any prizes, and becoming ineligible for travel reimbursement.

 

If someone is making you uncomfortable at any point, talk to a staff member, volunteer, or one of the MLH representatives.
