back to not having a life...
Jan. 27th, 2026 12:43 am...since i have a day off tomorrow!
tried my trusty debian on that 2 in 1 and it had. some issues. a weird slight flicker that mint didnt have, x11 didnt boot at all, and a loud beep on boot. idk if tahts a livedisk thing but ...its a no. one thing i will say is that wayland is actually way better than i thought itd be. and all the youtube people are doing csp just fine under wayland, so i think i will really be giving it the good old college try. back to my beautiful debiankun, i will surrender and accept that i may need a newer distro. im not going back to arch, so im going to try ultramarine, a distro my irl linux plug actually recommended to me!
plain jane fedora has always just been...weird. it doesnt open appimages, a core part of my workflow, without tweaks, but ultramarine is nice. its really nice.
anyway, its been a bit, and i installed it, and its reaaally nice. i like it a lot. had an issue where the cursor would dissapear after i flipped it in and out of tablet mode, but an update fixed that. i mostly use it to play papas freezeria in bed or on tv now.
i kinda like it but miss cinnamon..ill see how i like the touch controls.
I also made a little pouch, quilted it bc i couldnt find my fabric glue and i like the effect. ill post a pic after i make a sexier one.

Jan. 26th, 2026 11:22 amhad an excellent meeting this past weekend with the second architect to discuss the haus office ~~ (dad's still working and he needs somebody to do the fiddly small details)
feat: a real funny moment, though the context is needed since i'm this tiny shrimp of a chick that most architects tend to errrr underestimate on first look before actually talking with me. :p
me: [introductions, brief design pitch on me/my wants, hands him 3 pages of notes]
him: [he does a double take]
me: - now the important things in this office to remember is the le courbesier lc2 loveseat and then this eames soft pad chair that'll go -
[blah blah blah]
him: [ stays professional, but eyes getting wide ]
me: - and that should be it. With me so far, or any questions?
[beat]
me [angelically innocent]: I know that was a lot :)
[ him looking like holy shit you weren't kidding ]
him: one question .... is that a bauhaus behind you on those shelves? ....and the keith haring book?
me: [internally grinning: I Got Him :3 ]

Jan. 25th, 2026 09:17 pmi've been blabbering about tellius meta (with a slight side of selfship) on the fe tumblr lately, dumping a few of the text heavy posts. will post some of this with artwork eventually on the artblogs. supports/flavor text definitely inspired by how
kidlightnings did it :3

Bright Eyes
A mage that helps Tauroneo in Daein's reconstruction. In Izuka's disappearance, the only replacement that Almedha did not immediately dismiss. Among other scribe duties, she investigates Ashnard's and Begnion's war crimes.

Jan. 23rd, 2026 01:01 pmthere is a real art to telling both creatives and middle managers (and middle manager creatives) 'you're an idiot omg' without actually, saying,,, 'you're an idiot' lol
boss: hey for this billboard design here's the copy you asked for [dumps a literal paragraph in my lap]
my inner mouth: dude i love you but with total respect what the actual FUCK is this star wars opening crawl bullshit omfg
my (outer) mouth: copy that, yessir, putting it in 🫡
(and then later, in private, i will very delicately outline how a literal Paragraph of copy ain't going to be readable for shit and very coincidentally have a beautiful alternative already prepped to immediately pivot to)
funnily enough i'm also running into this with my architect dad (in a similar boss-level) designing the house because he was all 'can you tell your mom to back off because she's driving me crazayyyyyyyy i can't draw this next round without her HAVING OPINIONS at me.'
(what he doesn't know is *i* briefly half-sicc'd her on him because i personally was not happy with the latest round of changes and am benignly using that as leverage, heh.)
little manipulative, totally. but there's an art to it that'll leave everyone ultimately content. :p
