do you see my vision?™
Nyvision is a vibrant platform that encapsulates my artistic vision. It allows me to showcase my passion and talents in film, photography, graphic design, creative direction, and entrepreneurship. It’s more than just a portfolio—it’s a dynamic space where I continually refine my skills and share my creative journey.
who am i?
nylen brewington al-ahmar (she/her)
I am a student, both academically and professionally, eager to continue learning the ins and outs of film, photography, graphic design, creative direction, and entrepreneurship (you might see these words a lot).
As I hone my skills and further explore my interests in these areas, I continue to remind myself of my main goal: to consistently prioritize the portrayal of Black and queer joy and love in my work. Characters with these identities, especially intersectionally, deserve to be at the heart of humanizing stories.
I aim to combat society’s negative ideas and expectations for the LGBTQ+ community and dismantle systemically and generationally embedded ideas of unworthiness within the minds of Black individuals. I will do this by ensuring there is a strong representation of the true diversity of experiences in these communities, because neither are monolithic like the mainstream media often suggests. Working with other Black and queer artists throughout my career and continuously discussing others’ personal journeys will assist me in this mission.

“I have come to believe over and over again that what is most important to me must be spoken, made verbal and shared, even at the risk of having it bruised or misunderstood.”
Audre Lorde, a self-described, “black, lesbian, mother, warrior, [and] poet.”
