You’re only supposed to blow the bloody hooves off: AI Michael Caine narrates Odyssey audiobook | Michael Caine by Troile in blankies

It's to trick random people who they think will see the name and buy it. It's also to trick the investors who have poured so much money into AI and desperately don't want to admit the money spent has been a giant waste

'Shareholder Greed' And How Publicly Traded Companies Actually Work by bald_bearded_ocddude in Games

If it was just about those things I would agree with you, but the video is focused on how those things relate and influence the creation of video games which is why it's considered on topic. If he put out a video that's just about what books he's reading or something not related to games we would consider that off topic and remove it

We've had plenty of this style of video since the start of /r/Games

They haven't won in a long long time and have a lot of fans which means the fans are going wild right now.

Also if Vaati did that it would kick ass

Oh yeah I absolutely love it. It's also really funny each year when people take stuff they said out of context and act like whatever wild guess was made is gonna happen.

His podcast Triple Click is also very good and informative (except once a year when they make predictions without insider info and he always does horribly)

It really is nice Jason is giving good summaries of what's going on. It's nothing revolutionary but when YouTube is full of people ranting and constantly getting things wrong it's nice to have videos like this to point to if someone needs a good recap without a massive amount of exaggeration

Also a warning about this video to Spurs fans who are still suffering from the finals

The Steam Machine Costs $1049 by Turbostrider27 in Games

It's better than what we might've expected in 2026 but it's a fucking wild price compared to what we were expected before tech prices went insane in the last few years.

Very funny to post this the same day they talk about how the top 10 highest grossing movie list kinda sucks on the pod

Botan Kamiina Fully Blossoms When Drunk is a current seasonal anime that's about girls who get drunk and are gay. It's really good and full of a bunch of references to movies and other stuff (one episode has Talking Heads, Aphex Twin, and Radiohead parody album covers). First anime I've ever watched where the characters talk about Tim Roth

If we see posts that seem strange or suspicious we look into the accounts and take action if we find stuff

We have ways of investigating accounts that seem suspicious and we take action if we find enough evidence. With that said, accusing accounts of being bots without any proof isn't really helpful and often just wastes time

If there's no proof than yes we would remove it. If you do have proof please tell us and we'll deal with it (I wrote up a big post about astoturfing last year so I'm always on the lookout to catch stuff)

It depends on the context but we will remove vague comments insulting people like "Everyone who thinks X is dumb or astroturfing" (although if you do have actual proof of astroturfing tell us and we'll ban them)

Hey, I want to post a reminder to not use personal attacks since we've had a lot of comments breaking that rule in this thread. You can disagree without insulting people or name-calling.

It's been so nice outside lately and I've been walking like 15 miles a day before it ends up getting too hot again. Gonna miss this part of the year

Also I just started Hero's Adventure which is a really cool Chinese RPG. I'm super early on but there's a lot of cool systems and it's just really nice playing an RPG where the design philosophy is decently different from what I'm used to

Jason Schreier: How Things Got So Bad At Xbox by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Forestl 127 points128 points  (0 children)

It feels like the whole of Xbox hasn't been on the same page for generations at this point. When the Xbox One was announced we had executives saying completely different things at the same time (as talked about in this video) and since then it always feels like there's never a full commitment to any strategy for much time.

Whenever they do something really good or smart it's almost immediately followed by something else dumb or harmful to the brand.

Several Xbox studios, including Compulsion, Ninja Theory and Double Fine, are negotiating with Xbox as they try to avoid closure. Some or all could spin off. by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]Forestl -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No there's a fair amount of communication between the two to make sure the game is set up for success and progressing well. Too much interference can lead to issues but too little or inconsistent stuff can lead to situations like this
