osWondering if I should stick with Gentoo or just switch this machine Debian or something. It always feels like a waste of time sorting things out when portage is bitching, and it's happening way too often these days.
I could just separately build the software I wanted and create dummy packages for them...

I discovered wajig there too and I've been using it ever since.
I've been muttering about Gentoo for awhile but (famous last words?) Debian is working for me right now.
Heh and I assume you mean as in portage is Having A Bitch ;)
The Gentoo guys make it sound so easy.
