Thurs. 4th June - awl had a good day on Wed. adding £11 to his bonus, steadily eroding the gap with Jax- well done awl👏 - ralphy did well too, adding £5 to his bonus, well done ralphy 👏 - Shyboy - Barrie - Jaffa - HM & maddadof each added £2 to their respective bonus pots, well done to you all.👏 -&- Bruce8 rolled over to another £1 too.👍
Quite a good day for most, I had no luck, couldn’t even manage a rollover but didn’t have much time to spend. Hope Fubsy is ok, maybe on holiday, hopefully not ill but not had any survey activity for 4or5 days now.
Nothing today for me either, so hoping you’ve all had better opportunities 🤞 I might try again later but not able at the moment.
We’ve had a few showers today but mostly bright, still got the gusty wind, so showers heavy but not lingering.
Mr FP decided that the washing machine could do with a new door lock - he didn’t fancy it conking out again especially if it was full! - found out that parts are available for even really old models because most are interchangeable- ours is Becko but it’s one of many makes using the same lock, £9.99 on Amazon, it came today via R.Mail, he fitted it when he came back from shopping, so all good now, got a load washed, just going to hang out when it hammered down!
Hope everyone is ok, read Em’s post, sending her lots of hugs for her special day, hope it’s not too sad.
Hugs to anyone else who needs one, especially NokeyBlokey & wishing you all the very best of luck in all the draws.🍀☘️🍀💨🌤️🌧️🌤️🌧️💨🍀☘️🍀

Wed. 3rd June - I seem to be the highest today- but mainly due to Marie sorting the wacky survey- Many Thanks Marie x - added £11+ went up a place- awl had a good day, adding £6 to his bonus, well done awl👏 - Jaxster - Bruce8 & Beth8it each added £2 to their respective bonus pots+ Beth advanced an extra 2 LB places, well done all of you👏 & last but not least Barrie added £1 to his bonus pot👏
I haven’t found anything today but once again not much time, hope you’ve done better🤞 I did get a survey last night/am not sure which, having trouble sleeping at the moment. I managed to complete it & was surprised to see it had paid a reasonable amount, hope some of you have had it.
It’s been an odd day here, heavy showers, sunny spells & a very brisk wind distributing all the dead leaves & weed seeds as far as possible!
Mr FP managed a quick trip to the recycling centre between showers, so he’ll have plenty of empty bags for all the dead leaves & weed seeds which have covered the lawn & just about everywhere else.
His eye is still not clear, it’s 2 weeks today but looks like being a longish job. Hope you are all ok & the weather isn’t too bad where you are.
Hugs to all, especially NokeyBlokey 😘🤗 & many thanks for yours Jaffa, very welcome😇 Good Luck to all in the Draws🍀☘️🍀⛅️💨🌧️🍀☘️🍀

There is no set or average waiting time. Please remember that this free prize draw giveaway is like a lottery, you're best to hope you'll win, not expect to! :) Each member’s entry has the exact same chance of being selected in a draw. The system completes the draws from a database of active account ID numbers using a random number generator and the parameters of the smallest ID number to the largest. It then displays the postcode on the chosen account number as the winner of the draw. All it ‘sees’ is the account numbers of active members, it is not influenced by any other data or outside factors and is as random as a computer can be.

Another really slow survey day for quite a few of us, so extra kudos to Shyboy & Barrie for beating the odds! Today has been much the same for me but we’ve been busy so not had a lot of time to look, I’m up 13p so far😟 so hopefully most or at least some of you, have done better🤞
Apologies for being late again, visitors fault this time. Hope you’ve all had a pleasant weekend, it’s been a fair enough day here, didn’t get the rain, 🌤️ but like Jaffa a big difference in temperature.
Mr FP did some gardening, too many plants flowering at the moment to mention, lovely to look out at & lots of nice fragrances especially from the red roses, can’t remember the name though & it’s long since lost its tag.
Here’s hoping the forecast rain isn’t too torrential, all my peonies will be flattened if it’s anything like the forecast & they rarely flower twice even when cut back hard.

Sat. 30th May - once again awl has the highest total, after adding £9 to his bonus, well done awl👏 - Shyboy had a good day yesterday as well adding £7 to his bonus, well done you👏 - I added £3 - Bruce8 & maddadof each added £2 to their bonus amounts, well done both👏👏 -&- Barrie & Beth8it each added £1 to their respective bonus pots.
Well done to all, has today been any good? Nothing here so far, just a couple of screenouts, 😟 - I know Shyboy’s had a reasonable day, so hope most of you have been as fortunate.
Another warm sunny morning here but clouded over somewhat this afternoon, so not as hot & forecast is for cloudier tomorrow with rain a.m. but a dry and ⛅️ afternoon, Monday on seems to be rain & thunderstorms, throughout the daytime, for most of the week.
It’s unlikely to be quite that bad🤞but we will find out soon enough. I hope it’s all rather cooler for most of you after the rain & thunder storms you’ve had but if Marie’s anything to go by, it hasn’t made much of a difference.
We’ve done a bit more Spring Cleaning, rather slowly on my part as I have back pain now, though how on earth I ended up with that when I’m mainly in a supervisory capacity, I don’t know!
Some curtains washed today, the machine had a bit of a stutter before it decided to cooperate, obviously didn’t fancy getting another thump! They’ve dried ok, I usually iron on the lining side but as they’re not going back up for now, they’ll have to wait.
Sorry it’s a bit late again, the day just seems to have disappeared 🤔 I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend, whatever you’re doing, good luck with any surveys you have time to attempt. & Best of Luck to All in the Draws🍀☘️🍀🌤️⛅️🍀☘️🍀

Well after the excitement of being mentioned on FP's list 3 days running the weekend slowdown has arrived.
Cooler today. Worked on preparations for planting on the raised beds and put my 3 surviving cucumbers into a deep planter. Have removed veg plants (died or alive) from greenhouse. Foxes been at some pots after worms, I guess. In preparing bed 3 I had an unexpected small crop of potatoes. Clearly hadn't cleared the bed as well as I expected in 2025.
Cherries: I think there are over a 100 - I'll have to pick many before the end of the week and slowly ripen them as I'm away the following week.
On Tuesday there is an 80% chance of rain. Would be my luck if my neighbours 2 doors each side got rain and I didn't

Well done to all who managed to add some bonus, I hope it’s been good for you today, lots available here but nothing for me, think I’ve got about 40p so far, after trying loads!
It’s been a much cooler day here, cloudy morning but bright & sunny afternoon & early evening, so much more comfortable, hope it’s better for everyone further south too.🤞

Good luck with finding somewhere suitable with vacancies Jaffa, I think local councils should get government funding to open their own homes, so much for the conservative idea of privatisation, it just priced most people out of the market, especially local authorities.
Consequently more & more of them closed down & the disastrous Covid decisions have resulted in even fewer people considering residential care. Those which remain are mainly the high end of the market.
It’s a similar situation as with children’s homes, originally ALL local authority run, now mostly private, costing councils enormous sums for inferior care, with unqualified cheap labour.

Hi Jaffa, Though I see you've found a homecare company to call once a day for an hour for Bristol Auntie, I also note the difficulty you have had and doing it all at such short notice. So, given that, I'm not sure if the following will help or is worth you and Mr J looking into.
I've needed homecare myself since end of January last year and have been having a company called Helping Hands (based in Warwickshire about 8 miles from Stratford-upon-Avon, with offices all over the country, all registered with the CQC and I've found the one here in the NW - Merseyside - to be excellent) so, I've looked-up Bristol and there are 3 there. Here they are:-
1. Bristol Central (Sea Mills): 80 Shirehampton Road, Sea Mills, Bristol, BS9 2DR.
Overview: This is the primary central Bristol branch, providing both visiting care and live-in care across the city.
Reviews: This branch is highly regarded, scoring a "Good" overall rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Local clients and their families praise the carers for being professional, compassionate, and going "above and beyond" to ensure independence. Across all branches, Helping Hands scores an excellent 4.7 out of 5 stars on Trustpilot. Link:
https://www.homecare.co.uk/homecare/agency.cfm/id/65432222669
2. Chipping Sodbury/Yate: 35 South Parade, Yate Shopping Centre, Bristol, South Gloucestershire, BS37 4BB.
Overview: Located just northeast of Bristol, this branch serves the immediate surrounding towns and villages (such as Westerleigh, Thornbury, and Badminton).
Reviews: Families consistently describe the team here as cheerful, flexible, and responsive to urgent needs. While the vast majority of families highlight the carers' kindness and reliability, a small handful of reviews mention occasional communication hiccups with the office regarding specific care plan updates.
Link to Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/HelpingHandsChippingSodbury/
3. South Bristol (Keynsham): Flexioffices, Unit 11, Ashmead Business Centre, Ashmead Road, Keynsham, Bristol, BS31 1SX.
This was a bit of a strange one, because it came up with the above address from a general google search of Helping Hands under the second of 3 in AI. Then when I added "and what are the reviews on each of them?" to this and searched again it came up with as the above - i.e. No 3, now became number 2, and this one (previously number 2) was nowhere to be seen - and was replaced with this at the end: "You can arrange care, read more testimonials, or find contact numbers for these offices directly on the official Helping Hands Locations portal." with the Helping Hands Locations underlined that takes you to the portal and a map!
On that map, I then put in Bristol and searched within 25 miles and it came up with loads of purple markers and an address for the keynsham branch as:
Helping Hands Keynsham, Station House West
Ashley Avenue
Bath BA1 3DS
So, not sure what to make of that!...AI gone Awol?!
So here's the link to their locations portal:
https://www.helpinghandshomecare.co.uk/our-locations/
Main Bristol Link:
https://www.helpinghandshomecare.co.uk/our-locations/bristol/
Trustpilot Link:
https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/helpinghandshomecare.co.uk
Finally, one of the really good things about Helping Hands apart from the fact they're a long established company (established in 1989) is that, relatives can have access to their portal to view the rota each week and I think any notes the carer makes each time (they'll give you more details if you contact them), which is ideal for anyone like yourselves with relatives living at a distance.
I think I've given you more than enough to think about and wade through Jaffa and I just hope this helps as I really do empathise with your plight having been through this 26 years ago with 2 elderly parents (father in his 90's who'd gone blind over the previous 10 years as a result of glaucoma but, apart from a bit of cognitive decline after being hospitalised with a triple whammy - urine+chest infection+dehydrated - that meant he used to repeat himself sometimes and have a bit of a 'forgettery', he never lost his spark; and mother - an ex-headteacher - with dementia who was 'old school', always a stickler for it being her way or the highway and could very much be a 'battleaxe', particularly if she didn't like you! lol) but, both still living at home, fiercely independent, hadn't made any provision for their care as didn't want to be a 'burden', let alone to their 3 daughters!...I still remember the process we went through with them in those last few years but, we got there in the end and that was before the nightmare that negotiating the system has become now :-(
So, again, I hope this helps and leads towards you and Mr Jaffa being able to find more peace of mind with at least one of your respective Aunties, if not both (Devon seems to be bit more sparse with Helping Hands branches).
Take care and all the best, SS (SusieQ until recently!)

Jaffa
Well we have found a company that can do once a day homecare for an hour .That was not easy.Bristol Auntie is registered blind so she is terrified of having to leave her home but once she is permanently bed bound I hope that will be easier.
Poor Mr J was away in Belgium with friends and spent so much time dealing with issues as he is the one with POA.
Anyway another crisis temporarily averted .
You are right re care homes. When we were working I used to visit local ones for training of staff and although they often did not have en suite rooms which bearing in mind a lot of residents could not use due to infirmity they were happy and well run.
Now profit is the top line and help with residential care fees so hard to access it’s just cruel.
Rant over….

It was a very slow day here & has been the same again today, just about any old excuse, unrecognised I D number! was the latest of a long line of silly responses! I hope most of you have been having better luck🤞
I thought it was supposed to get cooler today, not so far 😥 phew! Another great pile of letters! Still sorting my way through the last lot. Got fed up earlier & dumped a pile in the recycling- sadly I thought better of it & rescued them until I have time to check properly!
We think something came to a sticky end in the back garden yesterday because it had that awful whiff! Like all the dead sheep we used to find whilst walking! Totally unmistakable- Mr FP went out with a large carrier bag this morning to collect whatever had met it’s end BUT fox must have come last night & found it, so revolting smell had dissipated & no body to dispose of. Isn’t nature wonderful!
Just had a very large jam donut with fresh cream! Mr FP couldn’t resist them! & obviously I had to save him from eating them all.
I hope everyone is doing ok, keeping cool & sufficiently hydrated - definitely going to be salad days again for the foreseeable future. Which reminds me, anyone else finding a dearth of Iceberg Lettuce? None anywhere, it’s a long time since we’ve eaten the flabby variety, we like cos & several others but nothing available. Good job there’s some salad cream to give the flabby ones some flavour,
Wishing you all the Best of Luck in all the Draws🍀☘️🍀☀️🍀☘️🍀

We have the celery too, just like a nice mixed salad, with as much fresh crunchiness as possible, radishes, cucumber, etc nice & refreshing especially in this sort of weather. Tend to make different versions everyday, with variations on dressings & accompaniments.

Very true Barrie but it’s the crunch we’re after at the moment, strange that there are no other lettuce at all, just the flabby ones, tried everywhere available, perhaps there was a glut of the flat ones 🤔 seems farmers etc are having lots of problems due to the degree of heat at the moment.

Tues. 26th May - doesn’t look like there was much around, again. Despite which, awl managed a very nice increase of £10 to his bonus & in the process, jumped over Shyboy to become 69th on the LB, well done awl👏 - Jaxster added £3 to her bonus amount, well done Jax👏. keeping clear of ralphy - who along with Beth8it added £2 to their bonus amounts- congrats on reaching the (£900’s ) -£700’s Beth👏 oops! like maddadof I’m blaming the weather too!
Fubsy - Jaffa - maddadof & I each managed to add £1 to our respective bonus pots & Barrie rolled over to another £1 too. Well done to all, I only added my last 10p at 5.30 am to complete my pound. It was too hot to sleep!
That’s the problem with stone houses, they’re really freezing when it’s cold but act like storage heaters when it’s warm, once they get warm it hangs around. Huge temp. difference between up & downstairs too.
It’s been sunny on/off here but quite cloudy too. -oppressive- but no sign of the forecast lightening yet.
I do feel sorry for all those further south, who are gradually being roasted alive, hope you’re all taking things easy & drinking plenty. I read somewhere that they now say milk is better than water as the hydration lasts longer thanks to the fat & other content.
Nice to hear from NokeyBlokey, funnily enough I was looking through the memorial page again last night, so I did see your very thoughtful addition & very generous donation. Good to see how many pmp’ers have joined in. Every time I look I can’t help thinking how very young Simon was- Big hugs to Em from all here.

Can anyone with Rheumatoid arthritis help me with this one please? I think it's due to the heat but my knuckle joints are way more swollen today and there are strange little itchy red spots appearing on the back of my hands, didn't happen last year?

Don't panic guys, don't think it's bed bugs. The red itchy spots had disappeared when I woke up, only surfaced a little as I moved around and warmed up. I think it's some kind of contact dermatitis (no.1 suspect... leaking washing up gloves!!)

Barrie they are becoming much more invasive, councils are having to spray regularly especially in communal properties, I was speaking to someone recently, they said it was partly people with old clothes, blankets etc travelling from other countries- where the problem is rife & a general increase in warm & comfortable living conditions.
Also said “Stay away from any companies who offer to remove your old bed/ mattress, when they deliver the new 1, cross contamination is a frequent spreader of Bedbugs!”

Can't help either Susiewoo2. I do have the same problem with ichy red spots on the back of my left hand. I've tended to think of them simply as heat spots. I get them when it gets very hot, like now and they disappear when it gets a little cooler.

Can’t help Susiewoo2’s, despite 1 diagnosis of rheumatoid, mine is still classed as osteo. My finger joints are swollen up too as are my toes, I found the compression gloves too warm to wear at the moment
Do you have an anti inflammatory cream you could use? the ibuprofen 1 is quite good, just a bit sticky in the heat. I’ve got a Flexall 454 gel which is quite good too, though a bit on the expensive side.
No idea about the red spots, maybe too strong a cleaning product. Hope it soon clears up, if possible maybe a GP appointment would be a good idea, while you’re off at the moment.

Mon. 25th May - Jaxster did ok yesterday, adding £4 to her bonus, well done Jax👏 awl added £3 to his, well done you👏 - Fubsy added £2 to his bonus, well done Fubsy👏 -&- Jaffa & I each managed to add £1 to ours. That was it!
Guess everyone else has been too busy enjoying themselves, congrats to all who managed a bonus addition, especially Jax & awl for finding a few more available opportunities. Nothing much here today, 23p so far! So really hoping most of you have had better luck.
V. Warm here, so I can only imagine how much worse it’s been further South, hope you’ve all managed to keep cool, especially the poor souls in Kent with water problems, hope it didn’t include Susiewoo2’s area.
Forgot to mention that the storage bags arrived yesterday, v. surprised- it said Tuesday but were shoved through the letter box about 2pm. Good job we’ve got a very big letter box.
So spent today, sorting winter gear to go into storage, they’re suitcase size & came with their own pump, 3 bags, including delivery, just over £3 - didn’t really expect the pump to be much good! Surprisingly effective. Obviously designed for folks travelling, would definitely recommend 👍
Our washing machine decided to die! Think we’ve had more than our moneys worth, it was just supposed to be a stop gap, cheapo from Argos- while we looked for another decent top loader, must be more than 15 years ago!
Mr FP looked on tinternet, took door seal off, emptied filters, did all the on /off & door slamming tips. Nothing worked, so he put it all back together & gave it a good thump!
Came back to life & worked perfectly- albeit on a super fast spin, we didn’t want to risk upsetting it, so left it as was.
Our forecast is saying sunshine & lightening for tomorrow- an unlikely combination 🤔 I guess we’ll find out!
Hugs to all, best of luck in the Draws🍀☘️🍀☀️🍀☘️🍀

Thank you Flower, for yesterday’s mensh - I have been out of circulation recently so, sorry, haven’t made any contact. My medications are fighting each other and I'm the one in the middle getting beaten up by them. I was so out of touch that I only learned, earlier today, of Simon's battle coming to an end. I have left what I hope are appropriate sentiments on their memorial tribute page, but I am not very good at this sort of thing and didn’t really know what to say to Emma. Meanwhile, I am still hanging on and wishing I was someone else - anyone would do! Thank you for still thinking of me, and yes it is hotter than I am comfortable with, particularly with my low immunity reminding me with everything I do. Let's hope this beautiful weather continues - I need Vitamin D more than ever right now!

Fri. 29th May - awl had an epic day, adding £25 to his bonus, brilliant total + advancing another LB place, well done you👏 - Jaxster also had a good day, adding £10 to her bonus & widening the gap with ralphy still further, well done Jax👏 - Shyboy did well, adding £5 to his bonus, well done Shyboy👏 - I added £4 to mine -&- Fubsy - ralphy - Bruce8 & maddadof each added another £1 to their respective bonus pots.
Well done to all who managed to add some bonus, I hope it’s been good for you today, lots available here but nothing for me, think I’ve got about 40p so far, after trying loads!
It’s been a much cooler day here, cloudy morning but bright & sunny afternoon & early evening, so much more comfortable, hope it’s better for everyone further south too.🤞
We’ve been doing some Spring cleaning, a bit late I know! But better than giving ourselves heatstroke! Nice clean sparkly cupboards & mirrors everywhere now + some things consigned to the rubbish bag.
We did eat our way through a big bag of Lions Midget Gems, which we’d unaccountably misplaced some weeks ago, so all good - except for the teeth anyway!
Hope everyone is ok & looking forward to a nice, much more comfortable weekend, hopefully with a few surveys available, perhaps awl will manage to find a few despite the slowdown.
Sorry it’s a bit late, didn’t notice the time, hugs to all, especially NokeyBlokey 🤗🤗 wishing you All Good Luck in all the Draws🍀☘️🍀🌤️🍀☘️🍀

Goodness Susie thank you for all of the work that you have put into this for me.I am so very grateful to you.My husband did after calling several companies find one that had capacity but it had to be done in such a rush your information will be very useful to us.
I wish I was able to give you a big hug but will have to make do with a virtual one from both of us.It can sometimes feel overwhelming as I am sure you know!😘😘🤗🤗😘😘

Rant over….

Thurs. 28th May - an extremely good day on Wed. for maddadof, who added an amazing £10 to his bonus + advancing 1 LB place, well done you👏 - awl did well too, adding £7 to his bonus, well done awl👏 - Jaxster added £4 to hers, well done Jax👏 - Shyboy added £3 to his bonus, well done Shyboy👏 - Bruce8 added £2 to his bonus, well done you👏 -&- Fubsy & I had a somewhat less successful day, adding £1 each to our respective bonus pots.
Congrats to all who managed an increase in bonus, especially maddadof with his nice round number👍 - I wonder how he’s got on today, I’ve tried quite a few, actually completed 1 only to be dumped out right at the end! Hope you’ve all had better luck if you’ve had time to try any.
It rained here last night, no Lightening though, just a nice pour down to water the plants & wash some of the dust off the trees. Had a nicer day today, a lot less cloud & a bit cooler thanks to a nice breeze. Hope it’s cooling down for all of you in the heat zone. Hopefully a cooler weekend ahead.🤞
Wishing you all good luck with any survey opportunities and the Best of Luck in all the Draws🍀☘️🍀☀️🍀☘️🍀

Wed.27th May - awl had another good day, adding £15 to his bonus, well done you👏 Barrie had a good day, adding £4 to his bonus+advancing 1 LB place, well done Barrie👏 - Fubsy & Shyboy each added £3 to their bonus amounts, well done to both of you👏 -&- CS - ralphy - Jaffa - Beth8it & I each managed a £1 addition to our respective bonus pots.
