My first step was to stencil the citrus design onto a pinking rectangle die-cut from white cardstock. I used Lemonade and Sunbeam inks for stenciling, but you could mix it up and make them lime slices or orange slices or even a combination of all three.

Next, I constructed the shaker element. First, I die-cut all the cake components from white cardstock and inked them with yellow ink, including the base cardstock panel. Then I die-cut the cake slice from the center of the stenciled pinking rectangle to create the window for the shaker and used it as a template to position the cake backer piece onto the yellow base panel.

Now I could attach a piece of acetate over the shaker window and create a well with foam tape around the window opening. I placed the clay confetti bits onto the base panel, in the center of the backer piece, and placed the shaker window panel on top, securing the confetti bits and finishing the shaker construction.

Time to decorate the cake! I added the cake slice frame piece around the shaker window for a more finished look and decorated the cake with whipped cream, lemon slices, small white flowers, and a candle. To complete my card design, I added a wavy banner with a white heat-embossed sentiment and attached everything to a card base.
Thank you so much for checking out my citrus-themed shaker card featuring the Cake Slice Shaker Dies. See you again soon!
