Prodigal Pieces is a small business that formed out of a desire to create a space where I could be me. What started out as a love for all things DIY evolved into a blog and brand in 2012. Prodigal Pieces is all about bringing new life to beautifully created, but otherwise, in need of love, unwanted, or outdated pieces. In addition, we’re about helping you be inspired into making your house your home. And finding your true self.
Looking to create your home story? Prodigal Pieces shop also carries vintage and antique finds from estates, flea markets, and thrifting/junking, as well as handmade goodness. Custom pieces are created to speak your style, just send me a message.
Why the name? Our faith is what drives me, and I believe we are all called to be like the prodigal son, who realized the error of his ways, was repentant, and returned to God. He became new by rejoicing in being God’s wonderful creation redeemed by the blood of His Son, Jesus. (Luke 15:11-32)

GETTING TO KNOW ME
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about the blog and my purpose. I am Larissa, owner of Prodigal Pieces – my entrepreneurial beginning. My life has many facets, homeschooling mother to 6 glorious children, homemaker, avid real food advocate, gardener, crafter in all its forms (crochet, sewing, needlepoint, painting, woodworking… you name it!).
In my past, I have earned a college degree majoring in Interpersonal & Organizational Communication with a minor in Business Administration and Bible & Theology. During my collegiate career, I have had photography, Bible, and various other courses which have brought me to where I am today. I even had the opportunity to work on the college paint crew. (you can learn oodles by hands-on applications!)
As a child, I grew up in a family of 6 and one of my quirks was to rearrange my childhood home house at a whim. My family would come home to find the furniture in a totally different arrangement or would hear my furniture scooting across the floor in my bedroom at which I would hear, “What are you doing up there?” Or I would be secretly raiding the wood stash and tools to create toys.
Although I enjoy my business, my family comes first. The business is the “icing on the cake” for me. Fun, profitable, and, hopefully, a blessing to those I come in contact with.
I would love to hear from you! You can message me at [email protected].
