Lest anyone love or hate something I produce on here enough to read my profile: I am Ren, an unaccomplished fiction writer presently slogging through more projects than are reasonable under the guise of "fun." I write because I fear my characters might hold a rebellion and messily burrow their way out of my skull if I did not. More seriously, I write because it is sometimes a feverish compulsion, always an enjoyable hobby, and distracts me from tetris-ing increasing numbers of fish into my home - which is a bonus for my floors and my budget. I write mostly in the urban fantasy, sci-fi, and horror genres, but outside of fiction I greatly enjoy writing educational materials, how-to guides, and pretty much anything relating to animal husbandry.

Beyond that, I am best described as a therian, pansexual, gender queer, mentally ill, physically bork'd animal rescue enthusiast from Alabama who is presently falling apart at the seams with too much compassion and love to cope with reality.
