Movies That I Really Like That Make People Point And Laugh
(but they're really good--really!)

1)Postman...no really
2)Starship Troopers--shut up
3)Sorority Boys--sure, *you* guys like it.
4)Soldier--enough to someday finish a fic based on it
5)Four Brothers--the incslash was *blinding!*
6)The Untouchables--Kevin was so cool in this movie and again--slash, my god!
7)Weekend At Bernies--it was the times, what can I say?
8)Lemony Snicket--come on, that movie was *great!*
9)Stand By Me--I mention this flick(old people for movie) and folks go, "Hunh?" It's a classic!
10)Formula 51---I hope we can still be friends...I was the only one in the theater laughing...that happens to me a lot... :(

So, what are your guilty pleasure movies? Come on--I showed you mine!

why yes, I am home from work today...

Starship Troopers, Stand By Me, and The Untouchables are all excellent films. No need to feel silly about loving them.

Cocktail
Dirty Dancing
The Spongebob Squarepants Movie (which is fucking awesome don't let anyone tell you different)
13 Going on 30
Elf (the best comedy EVER MADE.)

I'm also home from work and have not left the computer for about 8 hours

3)It took me a while to like it, now I watch it every chance I get.
5) If you know where some Four Brothers slash is, let me know. I love that film.
10)BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Okay, if I knew a theater that was playing it, I probably, probably would’ve seen it. My love for Robert Carlyle wasn’t strong enough to venture out to see it in the theater. But it was enjoyable.

// So, what are your guilty pleasure movies? Come on--I showed you mine!//
1) Grease 2. By far better than Grease.

I'm sure I have others. I know I do, I just can't think of it. "From Justin to Kelly".

Okay, I know my choices are...hmmm. but not as humm as Grease 2? Really? *backs away* my, how...interesting.
Come on, you knew I was going to mock.

And I swear...the 4brothers slash should have been pouring out all over the place. *sigh*

This is really a point-and-laugh thing, but i adored the original "Beastmaster" movie, with Marc Singer and his abs, and that strips-of-leather loin-thing - yummy!

Hee! Hey! I own Starship Troopers and Sorority Boys and I'm proud of it baby. And I loved The Postman - I thought the critics were assholes and into Kevin Costner bashing when that movie came out. And Stand By Me? Is chock full of hoy-yay between the two main boys, and how amazing was River Phoenix in that? Talk about early star quality! So, hmmmm, my others are:
Alien Vs. Predator
Alien Resurrection
Star Trek Insurrection
Wayne's World
Hudson Hawk

Hey!
Formula 51 *or, The 51st State* was fun! Robert Carlyle is teh hawt! And Sam Jackson in a kilt? And then...*not* in a kilt?
Whoooooooot!!!

Soldier - what's that? I don't know that moive. The Postman was fun, too! Tom Petty, wheee!

Stand By Me *always* makes me cry, omg.

Guilty pleasures movies? Hrmmmm....
9 to 5 - i adore those women.
Steel Magnolias - again, adore! I could have done without the whole cancer arc, but ah well.
The Big Lebowski - hilarious!
Fast Times at Ridgemont High - Aloha!
The second Alien movie - it's nothing but shooting and cliches but i love it. The first one scared the stuff out of me as a kid and is *still* an all-time favorite.
Big Trouble in Little China - a world of yes!

*laaaaaaa*

Soldier was a Kurt Russell movie in which he plays a sort of ultimate fighting machine.

Sorority Boys is *not* a guilty pleasure! okay, so maybe it is. so what?

Is Soldier the one with the guy who's trained to be a soldier and then gets left on some planet and winds up helping the people there against the people who created him? I like that movie.

A Series of Unfortunate Events was surprising enjoyable. We went with my little cousins and had a good time.

People don't know what Stand By Me is?! Dude, dissociate yourself from them! It's a classic! Any movie based on a Stephen King story that doesn't suck is a classic!

Almost forgot to actually answer your question. I'm never sure what counts for a "guilty pleasure" because by what I figure is the definition, *all* of my favorite movies are "guilty pleasures" because non of them are winning awards any time soon.

My fav movie is From Dusk Till Dawn, but movies I watch when I want to laugh include Robin Hood: Men in Tights and South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut. I also like Independence Day and Jurassic Park and horror movies in general (okay, I think Deep Blue Sea counts as a guilty pleasure because that movie is awful but I like it), Indiana Jones, Revenge of the Nerds, ooooo The Sandlot rules, Gremlins 2: The New Batch, and I dunno, probably others but I don't feel like getting up to check my movies.

I don't know if I can think of a favorite movie at the moment. I usually have forgotten the movie I've seen as soon as I get in my car to go home from the theater. I swear.

I love the Princess Bride, Glory, A Soldier's Story, and Brokeback Mountain, but I'm not going to croak if I never see any of them again. Hmmmmm. What do I luuuuuuuuuuuv? Pizza and nachos. That's pretty much it. Hee.

Let's see...

1)Road Trip. I die laughing every single time. So much love.
2)Josie and the Pussycats. Yes. I can't help it.
3)Kung Fu Hustle. I think it's awesome! But I get a lot of funny looks when I talk about it.
4)Rock and Roll High School. The Ramones! Wheee!!!

And that's all I can think of right now. I know there are more!

They make me want to throw things.

Like the book.

There's the "clueless adult" cliche, and then there's . . . this.

Just for starters, the kids develop a real relationship with Justice Strauss, who never seems to realize that just maybe Count Olaf isn't a suitable guardian.

Stick with the movie.

I did a post like this a while ago. I guess I have to admit this again, embarrassing as it is. I loved Band of The Hand, a truly craptastic movie about juvenille delinquents turned vigilantes. It features a young Laurence Fishburne as a drug dealer with a truly horrible eighties haircut, shaved sides and all.

The guy played Hedwig in the movie "Hedwig and the Angry Inch", whose name is completely escaping me now, played on the delinquents, a punk rocker who kills his absuive father. It's a fantastically terrible movie, and I highly recommend it.

Oh dear. So sorry. I wrote this when I was watching the beginning. Watching Lex headache, running, crazy driving, headach, running through the briars and the bushes where the rabbits wouldn't go, followed by Lana with the oh so snappy dialog "lex, lex, lex"

Well it was a less than promissing beginning.

I'll give more of it a go as time goes by. I guess I've been spoiled by those fan fic writer's who can write better than whomever they have on staff.

1) Bio-Dome
2) Dirty Dancing (I loved this movie when I was 6 and didn't understand any of the sexy stuff)
3) Cheaper By the Dozen (I love TW, but this movie was BAD)
4) On The Line (Bad, once again)

I also loved Four Brothers and understand that there should have been slash (at least unlike SPN, they are adopted brothers) but it was so sad. I don't think I will ever be able to watch it again because I was bawling in the movie theater.

Really, where is the FB slash? I might go look for it...
