An LIT is a leader in training. In this position, you would assist our staff with many day to day tasks each week. You are required to be available for at least 2 weeks and will receive 35 volunteer hours per week volunteered, upon completion. Applicants must be aged 14-17 years and either in high school (not recently graduated) or entering high school in the fall.
At Science Quest, we believe the best way to learn is by doing! That's why our LIT program is all about getting you real, hands-on leadership experience. As an LIT, you'll work closely with our awesome STEM Instructors and learn from the best. Responsibilities include conducting cool demonstrations, helping campers with activities, presenting science content, and much more. You'll get to share your love of science with the next generation, pursue your professional goals, be part of an awesome and supportive team, and have a ton of fun along the way!
A step-by-step breakdown of our LIT application process is provided below.
- Complete and submit the LIT Application linked through the "Apply Here" button at the top of this page.
- We will email you to schedule an interview. Interviews are approximately 5-10 minutes in length, and are typically conducted online through Zoom.
- You will be contacted within a week of your interview to confirm your role in the program. We will provide an availability form at that time so that you can indicate your preferred weeks to volunteer.
- We will send you another email prior to the start of your volunteer period, which will provide all of the necessary information to prepare you for the start of your role.
We really hope to see you in our LIT program this summer!
