Snow yesterday & last night but not enough to impede the car if we needed to get out so Osirus just shoveled a path to the street and another to the mailbox & called it good.

We're doing okay here, I feel a little guilty about that actually. Apparently I was born for a life of indolence and sloth. But the fridge is full of both leftovers and food-to-be-cooked and we have a decent pantry-stash as well (at Osirus's urging, I started shopping for this in February) so the next excursion won't be until he needs his prescription refilled, and that pharmacy has a drive-up window so we don't even need to go in if we don't want to. It's possible in the next few weeks I will start to get a little wiggy but at the moment I'm good with just the two of us.

We played two games yesterday (technically two iterations of the same game) and last night talked about doing a reverse ABC (so ... ZYX?). I'll be setting up das Zepter von Zavandor momentarily.

The new tentative re-opening date for the library is April 7, but I don't really have much faith in that -- I think we're still going to be in the thick of it. And maybe I'm too cautious but I don't see how we get back to anything like normal at this point without enough tests, a treatment, and a vaccine. The fact that there are still people not taking this seriously is deadly. And coronaviruses mutate; the more infected people there are, the higher the chance for it to mutate and start re-infecting people who've recovered. (Not to mention that we're not even sure they're immune to this one.) So it all seems terribly irresponsible to talk about opening a library, when we know the virus lives on hard smooth surfaces for 3 days and all our books are covered in MYLAR ...

Anyway, I have no power over anyone but myself, and it's not helpful to expend energy worrying about something that's 15 days away and not even set in stone. I'm going to try to add some words to my fic, and if that doesn't work I've got knitting and a whole shelf of DVDs.

Stay safe, y'all, and I'll do the same. <3

I think you're right to be pessimistic about that return date. My province was not badly hit by the virus - 93 cases total. One death. No active cases for the past two weeks. No new cases in over a month. And yet, the best estimate (guess) for going back to school? April 10. We've been on lockdown for over two months. Other stuff has been reopening though. I suppose tptb could be playing wait and see. With non-essential stuff open again, will there be a resurgence in sick people? Wait and see before cramming thousands of kids into classrooms (with all their hard smooth surfaces). My school's not particularly large, and we've got something 2500 students. So. Yeah. Let's not rush it.

(sorry for the wall of text)

>Apparently I was born for a life of indolence and sloth.< Me, too!! Sadly, I must work for now. Still doing a 4-day week remotely, though with added stressors bc work things.

>terribly irresponsible to talk about opening a library< - yes. My sister's library is closed to public, but she and other staff are required to come in and work. They are doing inventory. I worry liek woah.
