same dilemma that most internet artists have in one way or another - feel like get eyes on work , but not really much commentary . mostly feel this toward journal games right now , try out lots of different things , and get views and downloads - ratio about 2200 to 600 total , which feel kind of unfathomable ! but know not every download is definite player , and have no idea how many actually play in end - very few comment or rate , which is only kind of proof kossai can gather as not part of any communities .

on one hand , know that would be great way to get opinions . on other hand , feel like more people should utilise those built-in tools , because that is what most people actually see - do not want to know only private opinions of insular groups , and do not have endless social energy to continuously seek out . would just like to know if people , in general , actually enjoy ideas .

It's WIP Wednesday! If you have any Dungeon Meshi fanworks being made, share a bit of your progress in the comments here! Whether it's a fanart sketch, a fanfic snippet you're particularly proud of, or a graphic you haven't quite nailed the colors of yet, we'd love to see it.

For the sake of not making the comments section multiple miles long, please put your WIP under a cut, and provide a description of what is underneath said cut! (Ships, characters, what type of fanwork, trigger warnings if applicable...) We all have preferences for subjects we'd like to see, and things we'd like to avoid.

Don't be afraid to ask for help, as well! If something isn't quite right about your piece, but you can't quite put your finger on what, getting fresh eyes on it can help narrow the problem down in record time! Just be sure to specify you are looking for help, and what area you need help with. (Example: "I need help with this Falin fanart. Could someone help me make the colors more cohesive?") You can also ask for resources, and anything else you may need help with!

And remember, once your WIP is no longer a WIP, to consider posting it here for the whole community to enjoy!

Reccer's notes: Been on an Eclipsed Sounds kick lately, so I took to YouTube and struck gold. Producer absolutely NAILS the early-mid-2010s Euro-symphonic metal Napalm/AFM Records vibe, right down to the "Now available on X streaming services" plug nailed in the middle of the lyric video with the single art next to it. A+ usage of both of the voicebanks featured. I always thought they'd make a killer symphonic metal combo together, and they sure do!

Hey everyone! I wanted to write something after being busy these past few weeks accompanying my mom through her thyroid surgery.

The past weeks have been stressful as my mom underwent thyroid surgery. Afterward, she needed to spend three exhausting days in the ICU because her condition had worsened. My siblings and I took turns staying with her, which left me pretty tired, but I’m grateful she was able to leave the ICU quickly.

I also felt really bad for the elderly men and women in the waiting room who had had family members in the ICU for more than two weeks. I genuinely wish the best for their loved ones and hope they can be moved out of the ICU soon.

Right now, I’m staying at the hospital to accompany my mom. So far, her condition is okay, although she won’t stop coughing. We’re currently waiting for her doctor's assessment, and I really hope it's good.

Also, the hospital she’s staying at kind of sucks, the nurses are unprofessional despite it being a national cancer hospital, and we didn’t use national health insurance because the waiting list would’ve been way too long, and my mom was already feeling really uncomfortable as her thyroid nodule kept getting worse. On the plus side, one of the best oncologists is based at this hospital, so there’s that, I guess.

Anyway, I’m kind of stuck here just accompanying my mom and playing games on my laptop, lol. Thankfully, I downloaded a number of games for my emulator.

I’ve been playing Pokemon Moon and Bravely Default on the 3DS. I never had the chance to play Moon before, so that’s been nice.

Hopefully, my mom can be discharged tomorrow as her condition is holding steady.

sometimes wish services would have things like , groups of groups . like playlist groups for example , tidy up and give shorter amount of playlists at glance , but also get benefit of still have specific playlists under each category . that way " video games " can lead to playlist of glitches and corruptions , and playlist of code breakdowns , and playlist of full-length playthrough episodes .

this is entirely because kossai is hyper-specific organisational nerd and can not survive without organisation that go at least 3 layers deep . hate 1-layer organisation >_>

recently in intersex community tags on tumblr , there is some shit-stirrer action . what start off as someone read reasonable discussion in bad faith turn into that whole friend group sling shit around at any other intersex blogger who defend original poster , or even question this group's motives and behaviour .

have no intention on directly weigh in , because do not think that will help anyone at this point - this group clearly do not care for discussion of any kind , not even if literally agree but still question behaviours , or word agreement slightly wrong . beyond that , honestly , just do not want to dedicate any of precious energy to circular discussions and trolls - this is no longer about opinions , this is about tear down vulnerable people .

instead , have different mission - for every post any of that group make in intersex tags , and especially if those posts directly mention all this bullshit , kossai will make at least 1 positive or fun post in return . for people who block that entire friend group , well , more positivity is always good ! and for people who do not block , or at least not yet , then this is small challenge to idea that community spaces should exist for shit fests like this .

not sure how long will be able to keep this up , but think any amount of time here is worth effort .

If anyone's in the mood for something silly and fun, I'd like to recommend The Goes Wrong Show, which I discovered recently and absolutely fell in love with.

What is The Goes Wrong Show?

If you've heard of The Play That Goes Wrong, this comedy series is from the same theatre company, Mischief Theatre. Every thirty-minute episode is a new short play, performed by the determined but deeply unfortunate Cornley Drama Society. Every play goes as wrong as humanly possible.

In addition to being very funny, the plays are startlingly impressive technical achievements. These are genuine stage plays being filmed in front of a live audience, and making things 'go wrong' convincingly requires incredible pinpoint timing. So much hard work goes into messing everything up; it must be so much trickier than performing a play that goes right!

If you like Taskmaster, you might also enjoy this; they have a similar sense of people desperately struggling on with their mission while everything falls apart around them.

How much of The Goes Wrong Show is there?

Just twelve episodes of thirty minutes each. The Goes Wrong Show was dropped by the BBC after the second series, but the episodes are largely self-contained and satisfying in themselves, so there's no sense of an overarching story cut short.

If you watch and enjoy the show, there are two one-hour television specials you might also want to seek out: Peter Pan Goes Wrong, and A Christmas Carol Goes Wrong, both of which predate the show itself.

Where can I watch The Goes Wrong Show?

There's a good chance you'll be able to watch it at no cost! If you're in the UK, it's on BBC iPlayer (or DVD, if you don't have a television licence).

If you're outside the UK, I believe The Goes Wrong Show is officially available for free on the Lionsgate YouTube channel; this YouTube playlist should have all twelve episodes. I've heard from a couple of people based in the US that it's also on Amazon Prime there.

If I only ever watch one episode of this show, which would you recommend?

I love the whole show, and I think the first-listed episode ('The Spirit of Christmas') is a solid starting point. If you only ever watch one, though, the episode '90 Degrees' is a genuinely insane, extraordinary feat of performance. If you're wondering, they're not using CGI; they actually did that.

Blue is the original; tawny is the result of swapping the red and blue color channels in GIMP.

Feel like there was a period where almost gem-like eyes were popular in anime creature design, which also trickled into anime-influenced designs outside Japan. Wanted to vaguely capture that sensibility. I also generally kind of wanted to draw something that was "mascot character like", but still (despite the fantastical elements) looked more like an "animal" than a "toy." Cabbits from Tenchi Muyo, the fox-squirrels from Nausicaa, etc.

Made with Crayola "Pip-Squeaks", except the eyes and the very pale yellow-white areas - I don't remember the brand of those markers, but they're color changing markers of some sort.
