I'm completely new to this. Can I still join?

Absolutely! Our classes are designed for all levels, including total beginners. We'll teach you the fundamentals and you'll learn alongside others starting out too.

What should I wear to Jiu-Jitsu classes?

Wear comfortable tight fitting workout gear, T-Shirts, Rashguards, Shorts, Sweat Pants, Gi Pants are all ok.

How often should I attend classes to

progress?

Minimum for Improvement (2 times per week): You'll still see progress at this pace, but it'll likely be slower. This is a good option if you're focused on basics, have a busy schedule, or primarily want Jiu-Jitsu for enjoyment and fitness.

The Sweet Spot (3-4 times per week): This is where you'll see consistent skill development. You'll build stronger muscle memory and have the time to practice a wider range of techniques.

Fast Track (5+ times per week): This is for those wanting rapid progress, perhaps with competition in mind. Keep in mind that rest/recovery are crucial to avoid burnout and injury at this training level.

What does a typical class look like?

All classes are lead by black belt instructors. We have designed our classes to enable our students to maximize their skill development, and potential, with no experience necessary. We focus on skill building, live training, and direct hands on (personalized) instruction.

What is NoGi Jiu-Jitsu?

NoGi Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling-based martial art where you don't wear the traditional uniform (the gi). Instead, you wear shorts and a rashguard or t-shirt. Focus is on controlling your opponent through holds, submissions, and dominant positions rather than using the gi for grips. It's a fantastic workout and a great way to learn self-defense.

I'm not very fit/flexible. Is that a problem?

Not at all! Jiu-Jitsu will actually help you GET fit and flexible. Everyone starts somewhere, and we'll support you to reach new levels of fitness. You do not need to get in shape to start, you get in shape by training.

I'm a bit nervous about getting hurt.

It's normal to feel that way! We prioritize safety, teach you how to stay safe, and always encourage you to tap (signal submission) if anything feels uncomfortable. You're in control.

Can I check it out?

Of course! Your first class is free, please claim your free trial and we will see you on the mats.
