Call me tea or dem, both will be answered - I'm demotu on livejournal. I’m a twenty-something year-old student from Canada, studying physics on the clock and writing off of it. I love cups of tea with friends or alone, flirting, nerdy jokes and science fiction, playing (terrible) smashbros with my physics friends, canoeing and camping and anything that gets me in the wild, cuddling, being generally silly, hanging out with my family, getting logic and math problems, discussing ethics and politics, and talking with interesting people (that means you)

I'm an inherently logical being who is a sex-positive, bisexual, feminist, community-loving girlgeek. I hate the word "tolerant" because it implies there's something wrong to be tolerating, and I won't put up with your crap, though I'm not always good at expressing myself. I try not to take myself too seriously, though I often fail. I write a lot about my own life, about fandom, and about writing, with occasional pseudo-essays thrown in for deeper thought.

I started writing in the Torchwood fandom, and all of that fanfiction can be found at my writing community, demotu_writes. This journal is mostly an account of my life and a discussion of whatever’s caught my eye at the moment. Take a look at my intro post if you want a broader introduction to me. I don’t really believe in TMI, and really don’t believe in TL;DR, so beware, but don’t be afraid! I like talking to people, and that includes you.
