• Falkirk Extend Premiership Momentum With Rangers Draw — Motherwell Up Next

Falkirk continued their impressive Premiership run with a well-deserved 0–0 draw against Rangers at Ibrox — a result built on discipline, structure and defensive intelligence.

    Strong showing at Ibrox

Despite Rangers controlling long spells of possession, Falkirk restricted them to very few clear-cut chances. Scott Bain enjoyed a relatively quiet afternoon thanks to the organisation and commitment of the back line, who remained switched on throughout the match.

Manager John McGlynn admitted the Bairns “didn’t quite hit their top level” going forward, but praised his side’s work rate and defensive concentration. The point adds to Falkirk’s momentum and extends a positive run of league results heading into December.

    Attention turns to Motherwell

The Bairns now prepare for a crucial clash with Motherwell, a fixture that could have a major impact on the Premiership table. With both sides sitting close to one another in the standings, a win could see Falkirk climb even further.

Falkirk’s recent form provides reason for optimism. Only two goals have been conceded in their last six league games, and the team’s shape — both on and off the ball — continues to be one of their biggest strengths.

    Potential lineup considerations

McGlynn may look to freshen the side, with the possibility of Scott Arfield returning to the starting XI and defender Sam Hart also pushing for involvement after recent appearances. Up front, Brian Graham is expected to lead the line, supported by the creative players who have helped drive Falkirk’s resurgence.

    Momentum building

If Falkirk can harness the same defensive solidity shown at Ibrox and combine it with sharper attacking phases, they will feel confident heading into the Motherwell match. With the busy winter period approaching, another strong performance could prove vital as the Bairns aim to continue their push up the table.

  • McGlynn admits loan concerns as January window approaches

Falkirk manager John McGlynn has expressed his concern over the possibility of losing key loan players in January, with their parent club Swansea City expected to review all loan agreements following their recent change in management.

Two players in particular — Kyrell Wilson and Filip Lissah — have been strong contributors for Falkirk this season. Lissah, who has featured heavily on the right side of the back three, has especially impressed, and McGlynn made clear how important his performances have been to the side.

However, with Swansea appointing a new head coach, McGlynn says that the Welsh club may look again at both loan deals when the winter window opens. He confirmed that clauses exist allowing Swansea to recall the players in January if they choose to do so, describing it as “a concern” for Falkirk given the impact both have made so far.

The uncertainty comes at a time when Falkirk have been building strong momentum on the pitch, and McGlynn acknowledged that losing either player midway through the campaign would be a blow. For now, the club must wait to see whether Swansea opt to make changes once the window opens.

  • Next up – Rangers

    Written by Zac Gandy

After the massive win against Dundee United, the Bairns are closing in on the points week in and week out. We head to Ibrox next on Sunday the 30th. With the recent form we’ve had, we hope to continue it against Rangers. With this game being a big one in our campaign, we hope to secure the win away from home, hoping to see goals from the likes of Calvin Miller and Brian Graham, and hopefully push the team on with a strong defence behind them.

    Opponent overview

Rangers had a rocky start to the season with Russell Martin in charge, but they are finding their feet again with Danny Röhl now at the wheel. It will be a tough game for the team, as Rangers are finding themselves back in the competition.

    All eyes on Falkirk

After the game against Dundee United, the most noticeable players with big impacts were Calvin Miller, Brian Graham and Connor Allan, along with many more. Bringing this level of performance to Ibrox will be outstanding for the team.

The Bairns will need to be strong defensively and offensively when we travel to Glasgow for this clash. As we’ve seen in previous games such as Kilmarnock and Livingston, we are mentally and physically strong on and off the ball.

    Previous meeting

In our previous clash with Rangers at home, we drew 1–1, securing a point to help us stay in the top six. The players will need to be on high alert, as Rangers like to play both short and long balls to get past the defence, and they also tend to play down the wings. Because of this, the defence will need to tighten up at the back and focus on clearing balls away from the final third to create chances for a breakthrough.

The boys will need to stay focused in training and during the game. We at The Falkirk View can’t wait to see the Bairns get going again after the 3–0 win and the three points we picked up from Dundee.

    Fan angle

Rangers are known for the amount of tickets they give to away fans. All fans going will need to get behind the team and the manager, because it’s the noise we make that keeps the team going. We need to be loud and proud for the boys in navy blue. From the dressing room to the seats in the stadium, it’s the fans that make the difference with their motivation and support.

All eyes will need to be on the prize of three points for this game.

  • Falkirk Women Storm Ten Points Clear in the Barclays Championship

Falkirk Women extended their lead at the top of the Women’s Championship to ten points after a crucial strike from Vhairi Munro in their last game.
A Team Transforming Year After Year
The rise of this squad over the past few seasons has been nothing short of remarkable. When the current coaching team took over, the side had just finished in the bottom half of what was then the lowest tier in Scottish women’s football. Since then, they’ve completely rewritten the club’s trajectory:
Season 1: Took the team from the lower half of the bottom league to the brink of promotion, only missing out on the final day.
Season 2: Achieved promotion to the Championship.
Season 3: Finished fourth in the Championship, challenging for promotion again.
Season 4 (this season): Built a squad strong enough to be running away with the league.
Built on Heart, Community and Pure Love for the Game
Every summer, the coaches recruit smartly — bringing in players who improve the side bit by bit. Now the squad includes former Scotland youth internationals and a fantastic mix of experience and talent.
    And the most impressive part?
Every single player and coach is a volunteer.
There are no wages, no big budgets — just commitment, passion, and pride.
    Looking Ahead
Although the women’s team sits under the Foundation rather than the professional club, they are in a brilliant position to push for promotion to SWPL2. That would be a massive achievement for an amateur side competing against clubs with far bigger resources.
The progress is clear: a hardworking squad, dedicated coaches, and a group of players who give everything for the badge. Falkirk fans have every reason to be proud of what this team is accomplishing.

  • Bairns Soar to a 3-0 Win Over Dundee United at Tannadice

The Bairns travelled up north and delivered an outstanding performance, securing a 3-0 victory over Dundee United at Tannadice Park. The win pushes Falkirk up to fifth place in the league, just behind Rangers and Hibernian.
From the very first whistle, the Bairns dominated the pitch. Goals came from Calvin Miller, Brian Graham, and an own goal from the Dundee United goalkeeper. The team impressed with strong defensive challenges and several near misses that could have made the scoreline even more emphatic. Fans returning to the Central Belt were buzzing, with spirits high after a fantastic team display.
    Looking Ahead: Rangers Away
Next week, the Bairns face a tough away fixture against Rangers in Week 14. This will be the 17th league meeting between the two sides. The team will be aiming to continue their strong form and collect another three points, buoyed by support from fans and guidance from the manager.
Previous encounters with Rangers haven’t always gone in Falkirk’s favour, with the most recent game at home ending in a 1-1 draw. But with confidence high following today’s victory, fans will be hoping for another strong performance and more goals from the squad. Written by Zach Gandy

  • Next Up: Dundee United Away — A Big Test at Tannadice

Falkirk hit the road this weekend as they travel to Tannadice Park to take on Dundee United in what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the early campaign. It’s a meeting between two clubs with plenty of history — and both sides know how important this one could be.

    🔍 Form & Background

Dundee United have had the slight edge in the head-to-head over the years, winning 17 of the last 36 meetings, with Falkirk taking 12. It’s a fixture that rarely disappoints, and both sets of fans will expect another intense battle.

Falkirk, however, arrive with confidence and a clear identity. The Bairns will look to impose themselves with energy in midfield and speed in the final third — something that has caused problems for sides early in the season. United, meanwhile, will try to rely on their home strength and discipline out of possession.

    ⚔️ Key Battles

Midfield control will be crucial. If Falkirk can dictate play, they’ll fancy their chances of creating good openings. Transitions could decide the game — United are dangerous on the break, while Falkirk have pace to exploit space behind the defence. Set-pieces may also play a big part, with tight margins expected in front of a lively Tannadice crowd.

    🔎 What’s at Stake

This isn’t just another league match.

For Falkirk, a strong showing away from home would send a message to the rest of the division that they’re here to compete at the top level. For United, it’s a chance to reinforce their status and halt any Bairns momentum early.

Both sides have plenty to prove — and that’s what makes this fixture one to watch.

  • Barney Stewart Called Up to Scotland U21s While on Loan at Dunfermline

Barney Stewart is making Falkirk fans proud once again. Despite currently being on loan at Falkirk’s rivals Dunfermline, the 21-year-old striker has been called up to the Scotland U21 squad — a huge milestone for the young forward.

Stewart, who joined Falkirk from Heriot-Watt University in October 2024, impressed in 16 Championship appearances for the Bairns, scoring twice and providing two assists. His development earned him a loan move to Dunfermline in September 2025, giving him regular game time and a chance to sharpen his skills.

Now, that hard work has been rewarded on the international stage. A Scotland U21 call-up not only highlights Stewart’s talent but also underlines Falkirk’s role in nurturing young players capable of reaching the next level.

While the loan move may have raised eyebrows among Bairns fans — sending a key young player to a rival is never simple — Stewart’s achievement shows why the decision was made. The experience he gains at Dunfermline, coupled with international exposure, will only strengthen him ahead of his return to Falkirk in January.

    What this means for Falkirk

Stewart gains invaluable experience playing against top youth internationals. His development reflects well on the bairns recruitment system. Fans can look forward to a more experienced, confident striker returning in the new year.

For now, Falkirk supporters will be cheering Stewart on, maybe at Dunfermline and but on the youth international stage. It’s a proud moment for the club and a reminder that the Bairns are still producing talent that gets noticed beyond Brockville.

  • Falkirk Snatch Point, But Victory Slips Away in Final Moments

Falkirk looked set to claim all three points at the Falkirk Stadium, but a late strike from Danny Wilson for Livingston left the Bairns with just a share of the spoils.

For large parts of the match, Falkirk were the dominant side. The team pressed high, moved the ball confidently, and carved out a string of chances that had the home fans dreaming of victory. The attacking play was sharp, with the Bairns’ forwards probing Livingston’s defence at every opportunity.

Despite controlling the tempo and creating the better openings, Falkirk were unable to convert their dominance into a decisive lead. Livingston, showing their usual grit, stayed in the game and capitalised on a lapse in concentration in the dying moments to snatch a point. Danny Wilson’s late strike was a bitter blow for the Bairns, leaving the supporters frustrated but still proud of their team’s effort.

The result leaves Falkirk with plenty to reflect on. While the Bairns can take heart from their attacking display and the energy shown on the pitch, the inability to see out the match highlights the fine margins in football. It was a classic case of “so close, yet so far,” with fans left ruing a result that felt like two points dropped.

Manager and players will be keen to build on the positives—creative play, commitment, and determination—while addressing the moments that allow opponents back into the game. For the fans, it’s another lesson in patience and support, and another reminder that every point matters in the campaign ahead.

Falkirk now look ahead to their next fixture, determined to turn near-misses into hard-earned victories, and to ensure that late heartbreaks are a thing of the past.

  • Match Report: Falkirk 3-1 Kilmarnock

    Bairns Back With a Bang

Saturday afternoon at The Falkirk Stadium had that proper game day buzz. The crowd was loud, the flags were flying, and the Bairns didn’t disappoint — delivering one of their best performances of the season so far with a 3–1 win over Kilmarnock.

Right from the first whistle, Falkirk looked up for it. There was intensity, energy, and belief — everything fans have been asking for in recent weeks. It didn’t take long for that to show on the scoreboard.

After just seven minutes, Williams opened the scoring with a calm finish after being played through one-on-one, sending the home end wild. It set the tone early — Falkirk were on top and full of confidence.

Not long after, the pressure paid off again. A dangerous ball into the box caused chaos, and MacIver reacted quickest to smash home Falkirk’s second. 2–0 and cruising.

Then came the third, a goal worthy of the performance. Miller burst down the left, cut inside, and slotted beyond the Kilmarnock keeper to make it 3–0 before half-time. The stadium erupted — Falkirk were flying.

    Controlled Second Half

Kilmarnock came out fighting in the second half and managed to pull one back through John-Jules, who found space in the box to slot home. But Falkirk managed the game perfectly after that, keeping their shape, limiting chances, and staying dangerous on the counter.

It wasn’t quite as frantic after the break, but the Bairns stayed professional and saw out what could prove to be a massive three points in their push up the table.

    Final Whistle

A proper Saturday performance — fast, confident, and clinical. This Falkirk side showed what they’re capable of when they play with belief. The win gives the Bairns a vital boost ahead of another big run of fixtures and proves they can mix it with anyone in the league on their day.

    Full-Time: Falkirk 3–1 Kilmarnock

    Goals: Williams (7’), MacIver (22’), Miller (38’) – John-Jules (71’)

💙⚪ Another big step forward for McGlynn’s men.
