About StudioC

StudioC is a member engagement operating system built to help churches guide people along a discipleship pathway. We are a people-first, people-centric SaaS platform, with services to optimize the integration and implementation. We specialize in personalized member communication at scale, helping churches move beyond one-size-fits-all messaging to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time through the right channel.

Mass communication informs. StudioC activates.

We help churches know where people are, guide their next step, and communicate personally at scale through data, personalized messaging, member dashboards, and ministry visibility.

We are the engagement infrastructure that makes your existing systems work together—and your ministry move forward.

Yeah, we hear this a lot. But no. We are fans, though.

Blue Van Dyke, our founder and former Executive Pastor at a mega church, created a multidisciplinary team modeled after marketplace marketing agencies to implement member engagement strategy, focusing on the ‘next steps’ of discipleship. Since "marketing" was historically taboo in churches and "agency" implied secrecy, they chose "Studio" – capturing the essence of skilled professionals working together for a common cause.

When COVID-19 hit and churches lost their physical gathering spaces, Blue had left his XP position but received countless calls from struggling church leaders seeking strategy and advice on using technology and integrated systems effectively. Most churches didn't know where to start in creating personalized member engagement or how to scale it effectively, nor did they have the financial resources or technical skills to build custom solutions themselves. Churches needed access to flexible, proven systems that didn't require hiring developers or making massive technology investments. Recognizing that the "Big C" church (the Church at large) needed accessible studio-level expertise and tools, Blue founded StudioC to make member engagement strategies and technology available to churches of all sizes.

We are headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona.

While we work with churches nationwide and internationally ranging from 200 to 40,000+ in attendance, our software and services are optimally designed for churches with 800-25,000+ members where personalized engagement at scale becomes critical for growth and retention.

For smaller churches (under 200), face-to-face communication may still be manageable, though we encourage every church to think strategically about member engagement. As churches grow, our solution enables continued personal connection at scale – something that becomes impossible through manual processes alone. Our flexible platform grows with you and your current systems, potentially avoiding the need for expensive enterprise solutions down the road, particularly as you grow and would like to limit custom development expenses.

Church member engagement software helps churches move people forward, not just send announcements or look at data.

Mass communication informs. Data shows metrics.

Engagement activates both communication and data for the sake of discipleship.

StudioC helps churches know where people are, guide their next step, and communicate personally at scale through data, personalized messaging, member dashboards, and ministry visibility.

Most platforms help churches see data or send messages.

StudioC helps churches move people along a spiritual journey.

That’s the difference.

For StudioC, member engagement means helping people take meaningful next steps in their faith journey—not just sending more announcements or having them do more activities.

It’s knowing where someone is in their faith, understanding what their next step should be, and communicating in a way that helps them move forward. Attendance matters, but engagement goes deeper: groups, serving, giving, baptism, leadership, and discipleship momentum.

That’s the difference between communication and engagement.

Most churches measure and have tactical plans for attendance.

We help measure movement and activate tools for discipleship growth, the true sign of member engagement.

Both.

We provide technology, but we also help churches understand and build the strategy behind it. Technology without clarity creates noise. We help define your discipleship pathway, align your messaging, and build systems that scale personal ministry.

Software is the tool. Strategy is what makes it work well. We do both.

We help you lead with strategy, and implement tools for greater impact.

How is StudioC Different

While there may be many differences, here are 3 of the most significant differentiators:

First is our intelligent, data-driven approach to discipleship. Our Waypoint is a discipleship activation system that uses dynamic segmentation and automated messaging to guide people along their unique discipleship journey while providing actionable insights for ministry leaders.

Second is our multi-point architecture approach. We're not a church management system or a mobile app provider – we're the intelligent middleware that connects your existing tech stack and transforms how you engage your members. We’re currently the only middleware in our industry that 1) integrates with almost every ChMS on the market AND every mobile app platform, and 2) that delivers personalized messaging directly to member dashboards within various mobile apps.

Lastly, the vast majority of our staff have worked for churches: church planters, executive pastors, communication directors, senior pastors, youth pastors, and developers for churches. Our collective experience gives us a deep understanding of the nuances and complexities of the challenges that churches face.

No.

Your communications team may run the systems, but StudioC's value serves the entire church.

Executive pastors gain strategic clarity.

Pastors gain visibility.

Discipleship teams guide next steps.

Groups teams and leaders improve connection.

Giving teams improve stewardship.

StudioC is not just a MarCom tool.

It is ministry infrastructure.

Yes.

Campaigns are temporary.

Discipleship systems are ongoing.

We help churches define measurable next steps, build the logic behind them, and automate the communication that moves people forward over time.

That means fewer disconnected campaigns and more intentional ministry.

The goal is not more communication. The goal is more discipleship.

We cannot measure heart transformation—but we can measure movement.

And movement matters.

Spiritual indicators such as baptism, groups, serving, giving, leadership development, etc and their engagement patterns all reveal whether people are taking meaningful next steps toward Jesus.

Most churches are good at counting attendance. But attendance is not discipleship. Showing up is not the same as spiritual growth.

The real question is whether people are moving forward in their faith.

That is where StudioC leads.

We pioneered a practical way to help churches define what spiritual progress looks like, create visibility around it and communicate to their members at scale. Through the right strategy, systems, and execution, we help churches track and cultivate discipleship across the full spiritual journey—not just attendance.

This is more than reporting. It is a discipleship framework.

We help churches know where people are, guide them to the right next step, and measure whether ministry is actually moving people toward Jesus.

Because what gets measured gets managed.

And discipleship deserves clarity.

Technology & Integrations

No. StudioC is not a church management system, and we are not a mobile app.

Your ChMS stores data.

Your mobile app hosts engagement.

Your email and SMS sends messages.

Your staff tries to connect the dots manually.

We help those systems work together as one member engagement strategy and  operating system so your church can move from disconnected communication to proactive ministry.

We do not replace all your systems. We make them smarter.

StudioC is intelligent middleware that integrates with your current technology stack. We create a custom data warehouse for your church that connects and normalizes data from multiple sources, including your ChMS, mobile app, spiritual assessments, spreadsheets, and other platforms as available.

Think of us as the brain that makes your existing systems work together more intelligently. We layer on top of your systems and integrate with your mobile app to deliver personalized messaging and member dashboards, as well as omni-channel communication.

Middleware connects the systems you already use so they work together.

Most churches already have good tools. The problem is they do not naturally work together.

Your ChMS, giving platform, mobile app, forms, groups, and communication tools often live in separate places. StudioC helps unify that experience so your staff is not managing chaos, and often fills gaps of frustration.

We do not replace your tech stack. We make it smarter.

Yes 😉 Waypoint and ChurchIQ are both Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), web-based products. No "new version" upgrades to manage. No delayed feature rollouts based on donation levels or church size. Everyone gets the latest features and updates automatically, regardless of your subscription level.

We integrate with these major church management systems including:

  • Breeze
  • PushPay (formerly Church Community Builder (CCB))
  • Fellowship One
  • Ministry Brands (Amplify)
  • Planning Center
  • Rock RMS
  • Salesforce
  • And many others

Don't see your ChMS listed? We're continually adding new integrations. Contact us for our most current integration list or to request a new one – we're happy to add you to our development roadmap.

Depends. While we have integrations with most of the platforms out there, we don’t have all of them, yet. If your current tech stack is not on our list and you really want to use StudioC, we provide objective guidance on pros and cons, keeping your needs as the priority rather than pushing specific vendors.

Our technology is intentionally agnostic – we meet you where you are. We believe you know your church best and should use the systems that work for your staff and members. Our Waypoint often fills gaps and amplifies the effectiveness of your current systems, potentially saving you the cost and disruption of switching platforms.

As churches grow, technical needs often change and you may look for additional features or capabilities. Our solution is flexible, and as middleware, we help you avoid having to migrate to more expensive, complicated enterprise systems that require multiple on-staff developers to maintain. Instead, we integrate with your existing systems and provide the intelligent engine for personalized member engagement at scale – we grow with you and your current systems.

Yes, you will need a church management system (ChMS) or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system in place to use our software.

Our solution is middleware that includes a custom data warehouse (unique to each church) that connects and normalizes data sources, including, but not limited to, your existing church management system (ChMS) and any other source data you use (eg, assessments, spreadsheets, etc). So, there must be a ChMS or CRM system available.

Technically, no. But it is the ideal solution for your people to engage more meaningfully with their personalized Member Dashboard.

Don’t have an app? No problem. We work with all the major church app providers, and we can provide objective guidance on pros and cons, keeping your needs as the priority rather than pushing specific vendors.

We work with all major providers including:

  • PushPay
  • Subsplash
  • The Apollos Project
  • Tithely
  • Pocket Platform
  • And custom mobile solutions

No. We do not have our own mobile app. However, we have a lot of experience with many mobile apps and actively work together with all the major app providers in the church space.

If you are in the market for a mobile app or considering a change, we are happy to discuss the options and determine what mobile app may be the best fit for your needs and budget.

We are an objective voice that keeps your needs and desires as priority. From general advice to a discovery engagement that outlines technical architecture and recommendations, we can help educate and ease the decision making process.

Our software creates personalized member dashboards accessible through your mobile app and a "My Dashboard" link in your website's navigation. This password-protected portal displays each member's profile, next step badges, personalized messaging, and relevant church information – creating a seamless experience across all digital touchpoints.

Yes! Waypoint supports rich media content including GIFs and videos to make your messages more engaging and visually compelling. People today expect dynamic, visual content, and adding GIFs for celebrations or videos for event previews can significantly increase engagement.

We recommend using rich media strategically – videos work great for event invitations or ministry spotlights, while GIFs can add energy to celebration messages. We support standard file formats and can provide guidance on optimal sizes during onboarding to ensure fast loading across all devices.

Remember, the goal is helping people take their next step in discipleship – sometimes a well-placed GIF or compelling video is exactly what captures attention and moves someone to action.

You do. Always.

Each client church receives its own dedicated data environment—not shared access inside a multi-tenant system. Your data stays yours, and we never sell, share, or repurpose it.

We believe stewardship includes data stewardship.

Your church should never lose ownership of its own people data.

The Customer Data Platform (CDP) that we set up for you helps bring all of your church’s data into one clear, connected system.

Often called a data warehouse or data lake, the CDP that we set up for you pulls information from your ChMS, giving platform, app engagement, groups, forms, events, and spreadsheets—then organizes and normalizes it into a single source of truth.

Most churches already have plenty of data. The problem is it lives in too many places.

When systems don’t talk to each other, personalization breaks, reporting gets messy, and leaders are left making decisions without clarity.

A church-specific CDP solves that.

It helps you know where people are, guide them to meaningful next steps, and communicate personally at scale—without losing the pastoral heart of ministry.

Without clean data, personalization breaks. With it, ministry gets clearer.

Yes, and honestly, that’s normal.

Most churches come to us with duplicate records, disconnected systems, and inconsistent reporting. We help clean, normalize, and structure your data so your engagement strategy actually works.

You don’t need perfect data to start. You need a clear plan.

Our Member Engagement Solution | Waypoint

Waypoint transforms how you communicate with members by delivering personalized messages based on where each person is in their discipleship journey. Instead of sending everything to everyone, the system adjusts communication based on where each person is in their discipleship journey. It segments audiences dynamically to automatically deliver relevant next-step messaging.

For example, someone who hasn't joined a small group receives targeted invitations and information about groups, while active group members get content about other relevant next steps. The system helps guide those moments automatically as a person’s engagement changes, ensuring everyone receives messages that move them forward in their faith journey and supports them right where they are.

This personalized approach increases engagement, reduces communication fatigue, and helps pastors shepherd their congregation more intentionally, not accidentally – especially between Sundays.

The goal is not more communication.

The goal is more discipleship.

Blue Van Dyke introduced the application of a “member lifecycle” to the local church in early 2015.

Member lifecycle refers to the journey a person takes from first-time visitor to a mature, engaged believer who serves, leads, and helps others take their next step toward Jesus.

This often includes stages like guest → regular attender → baptized believer → group member → serving volunteer → leader → and evangelist—someone actively sharing their faith and inviting others into community.

This framework helps churches move beyond simply tracking attendance and toward intentionally guiding discipleship and long-term engagement.

Church member lifecycle management means helping people move from first visit to full discipleship. Common steps are:

Guest.

Connected.

Serving.

Giving.

Leading.

Sharing.

Most churches are good at tracking attendance but struggle to track spiritual movement. We help churches create visibility around where people are and what their next step should be.

We do not optimize lists. We optimize movement.

Member engagement goes beyond simply communicating to your members. True engagement means delivering personalized, relevant content that moves people forward in their discipleship journey. It's the right message, to the right person, at the right time, through the right channel – not just adding "[First Name]" to mass emails.

While we recognize that genuine heart transformation is a work of the Holy Spirit that can't be fully measured by technology, we approach engagement from both a technical and methodological perspective with the best of intentions. We measure engagement through observable actions – baptisms, group participation, volunteer service, giving patterns, and other discipleship indicators – understanding that consistent participation and involvement often reflect the daily habits and life practices that align with biblical teachings.

Our philosophy is simple: Regular engagement in spiritual disciplines and community involvement typically indicates forward movement in one's faith journey. By tracking these patterns, we help church leaders identify opportunities to encourage, support, and guide members toward deeper discipleship, always recognizing that the ultimate goal is heart transformation that only God can accomplish.

Discipleship works best when people know where they are—and where to go next.

A next step indicator badge or icon system gives your church a simple, visual way to guide people through their spiritual journey. Instead of hoping someone figures out what to do after attending on Sunday, you create clear, visible pathways that help them move from attending to engaging, and from engaging to growing.

Think of it like trail markers on a hiking path. If the path isn’t marked, people wander. If it’s clear, people move forward with confidence.

Badges and icons help answer the questions people are already asking:

  • What should I do next?
  • Where do I belong?
  • How do I get more connected?
  • What does spiritual growth look like here?

When someone sees clear options like Connect, Serve, Give, Join a Group, or Take the Next Step, it removes friction and replaces uncertainty with action. That clarity matters because people rarely take unclear next steps.

At StudioC, we believe you can’t disciple what you can’t see. A badge system creates measurable discipleship movement by helping leaders track engagement patterns and helping members recognize progress in their own faith journey. It turns vague ministry goals into visible momentum.

It also moves your church beyond mass communication. Instead of sending the same message to everyone, you can guide the right person to the right next step at the right time—because discipleship is personal, not generic. StudioC’s engagement model is built around this principle: Know. Match. Tell. Measure. Know where people are, match them to the right next step, tell them how to move forward, and measure progress along the way .

The goal isn’t better icons.

The goal is better engagement.

Because when people feel seen, known, and guided, they’re far more likely to take meaningful steps toward Jesus.

Clear path. Clear purpose. Stronger discipleship.

We have found next step indicator badges or icons to be an effective, persistent encouragement that helps people move forward on their discipleship pathway.

Standard Badges (Essentials level) include indicators or icons for the five most common discipleship steps that work for most churches:

  1. Attend (regular service attendance)
  2. Baptism (public declaration of faith)
  3. Giving (financial stewardship)
  4. Groups (small group participation)
  5. Serving (volunteer engagement)

While you can customize the icon names and style the icon images to match your church culture, the underlying logic and data mapping follow set standard patterns, making setup faster and more affordable.

Custom Badges (Waypoint Pro level) allow you to define unique discipleship steps specific to your church's ministry model – such as membership classes, leadership development, mission trips, or specialized programs. Custom badges require additional data mapping and logic configuration, which increases both setup complexity and cost. However, with our personalized consultative approach, we are happy to collaborate with you to apply best practices and define what works best for your ministry.

Omni-channel communication capability is built into our solution. We offer integrated email and SMS platforms as add-ons to the Waypoint subscription, with tier-based pricing that includes generous usage allocations adjusted based on volume.

Why use our integrated platforms? While you can certainly use external email and SMS services alongside Waypoint, our integrated approach offers significant advantages:

  • Unified engagement tracking - All communication channels feed into one comprehensive engagement profile
  • Dynamic segmentation by channel preference - Automatically target people based on how they best respond (email vs. SMS vs. mobile app)
  • Cross-platform personalization - Consistent messaging and next-step logic across all touchpoints
  • Simplified reporting - One dashboard shows engagement across all channels instead of multiple separate systems

The result: More effective communication, better member insights, and streamlined management – all while reaching people through their preferred channels.

No, you don't. You can certainly continue to use your existing email tool, and we understand why some do, especially if you've already built out complex workflows.

However, the value of using our integrated email platform is that all engagement analytics feed directly into Waypoint, enabling additional filters and dynamic automations based on email behavior. For example, you can automatically segment people based on email engagement patterns, create follow-up sequences for non-openers, or trigger mobile app notifications for email subscribers who haven't opened recent messages. This level of integrated automation isn't possible when using separate email systems.

Data drives everything we do. Waypoint delivers robust reporting on the effectiveness of your messaging, accessible through your admin dashboard, plus monthly engagement overviews. You can track:

  • Message engagement rates by channel and audience
  • Discipleship step progression and bottlenecks
  • Member lifecycle advancement
  • Campaign effectiveness
  • Real-time audience segmentation data
  • Media click-through effectiveness; eg, which media converted better? Image, gif, video, poll?

As we often say, "you can't manage what you don't measure." Our analytics help you make ministry decisions based on data rather than intuition.

Our ChurchIQ analytics product provides macro-level, real-time, automated reporting dashboards with 60+ metrics designed specifically for church leadership strategic decision-making.

Waypoint was built by church professionals for church professionals. While marketplace strategies are helpful, church engagement is not exactly the same as retail marketing, and discipleship is not the same as customer retention.

What makes Waypoint truly unique is our pioneering next step indicator badge and icon system, introduced by Blue Van Dyke, StudioC Founder, in 2015 as a practical way to manage the member lifecycle and make discipleship visible.

The idea is simple: people grow when they know where they are—and where they’re going next.

Instead of relying on mass communication or hoping people figure it out on their own, Waypoint helps churches create clear discipleship pathways through visible next step indicators like Attend, Connect, Serve, Give, Groups, Baptism, Leadership, etc. The badges help members take ownership of their own faith journey while giving church staff real visibility into engagement and spiritual movement.

You can’t disciple what you can’t see.

That’s why Waypoint combines personalized messaging with measurable discipleship strategy. Our platform builds dynamic audiences from multiple data sources and delivers the right message to the right person at the right time across email, SMS, and mobile app experiences.

StudioC also pioneered the app-agnostic personalized member dashboard—one of the most unique features of Waypoint. Traditionally, this level of personalization was only available through expensive custom-built enterprise mobile apps that required major development costs, constant maintenance, and long-term dependence on developers.

Waypoint changes that.

Our personalized member dashboard works with most church app ecosystems, allowing churches to deliver unique messaging, next steps, and discipleship pathways inside the app platforms they already use—without rebuilding their entire tech stack.

That means no expensive custom app development, no code-heavy maintenance, and no disruption if your systems change later. Whether your church uses Pushpay, Subsplash, Planning Center, Ministry Brands or another platform, Waypoint provides a flexible, affordable, code-free solution that makes personalization accessible to churches of every size.

Behind it all is our custom-built church data warehouse, also known as a customer data platform (CDP),  designed to normalize ministry data across your existing systems. That means stronger segmentation, clearer reporting, and better decisions—without the clutter of unnecessary “retail” features found in traditional CDPs, and at a fraction of the cost.

Simply put, Waypoint gives churches everything they need to guide people toward meaningful next steps with more flexibility, stronger integrations, and a discipleship-first approach built specifically for the Church.

It’s not just communication software.

It’s a discipleship engine.

Because people respond when they feel known.

Mass communication says, “Here’s everything.”

Personalized church communication says, “Here’s your next step.”

Church member engagement grows when the right message reaches the right person at the right time—based on where they are in their discipleship journey, not just what’s happening on the church calendar.

Instead of sending the same email, text, or app notification to everyone, personalized messaging helps churches guide people toward meaningful next steps like joining a group, serving, giving, baptism, or leadership development.

This creates stronger discipleship pathways because communication becomes personal, relevant, and timely.

Mass communication may inform.

Personalized communication helps transform.

People expect relevance. They want to feel seen, not segmented into a generic email blast. When churches move beyond mass messaging and create intentional, personalized engagement, people are more likely to respond, connect, and grow in their faith.

Mass blasts are out of vogue.

Discipleship is personal and communication should be too.

Yes.

Waypoint uses dynamic segmentation and automation to trigger personalized messaging based on real behavior and engagement—not static lists.

Guests can receive next-step pathways. Group members can be nurtured differently than first-time visitors. Givers, volunteers, and leaders can each receive communication built for where they are.

That’s how discipleship scales.

ChurchIQ / Analytics

ChurchIQ is StudioC’s church analytics platform designed to give leaders clear, actionable insight into their ministry.

It brings together attendance, giving, engagement, and discipleship data into one place—so you can see what’s actually happening across your church.

Instead of chasing spreadsheets across multiple systems, ChurchIQ gives you a single, unified view of your data. That means you can quickly identify what’s working, where people are getting stuck, and where to focus next.

ChurchIQ doesn’t just report numbers—it helps you understand movement. From first-time visits to deeper engagement, you gain visibility into how people are growing and where they need guidance.

Because at the end of the day, you can’t shepherd what you can’t see.

Most churches do a pretty good job tracking operational metrics like attendance, giving, budgets, staffing, and expenses. Those numbers matter. They help you understand the health and sustainability of the organization.

But they only tell part of the story.

Ministry metrics help answer a different question: Are we actually making disciples?

While no dashboard can measure heart transformation, there are indicators that help us understand whether people are taking meaningful next steps in their faith journey. Baptisms, groups, serving, volunteer engagement, retention, and giving participation can all provide valuable insight into how people are engaging with your church and growing in their faith.

At StudioC, we believe ministry metrics deserve the same level of visibility and attention as financial and operational metrics. After all, financial metrics tell you if your church is sustainable. Ministry metrics help you understand if your church is effective.

Both matter.

Because if the mission is making disciples, then disciple-making should be measured with the same intentionality as everything else.

Most church reporting tools tell you what happened.

ChurchIQ helps you understand what it means and what to do next.

Traditional reports often focus on attendance, giving, budgets, and operational performance. Those metrics matter, but they're only part of the story.

ChurchIQ brings data from across your church into one place, helping leaders see both organizational health and ministry effectiveness. Instead of spending time pulling reports from different systems, leaders can spend more time understanding what's working, what's not, and where people may need additional support.

Financial and operational metrics tell you how the church is running. Ministry metrics help you understand whether you're accomplishing your mission.

It's not more reports. It's more clarity around what matters most.

The right metrics are the ones that reveal movement.

Most church leaders already track financial and operational metrics, and they should. But ministry metrics deserve the same level of attention because they help answer a different question: Are we accomplishing our mission?

While every church may have unique discipleship next steps, we recommend tracking these core indicators at a minimum:

  • Attendance
  • Groups
  • Serving
  • Giving
  • Baptisms
  • Volunteer Engagement
  • Retention
  • Donor Health

These are the most common discipleship-related metrics across churches and provide a holistic view of member engagement and spiritual growth.

Many churches also track additional milestones such as membership classes, leadership development, mentoring relationships, mission trips, or other ministry-specific objectives. Those will inform progress, too.

No metric can fully measure heart transformation, but these indicators can help you identify whether people are moving deeper in their faith journey, or simply showing up.

You can't manage what you don't measure.

Yes, through observable next steps.

Heart transformation belongs to God.

But churches can measure movement through baptism, groups, serving, giving, leadership development, volunteer engagement, and other participation patterns.

ChurchIQ helps leaders see where growth is happening and where people may be getting stuck so discipleship becomes more intentional.

Most churches measure activity. Few measure movement.

Integrated with Waypoint, ChurchIQ provides segmentation for automated actionable follow up at the individual level.

Most churches track pieces of engagement, attendance, giving, or group involvement, but struggle to see the full picture.

ChurchIQ brings these data points together into one view, helping you track how people are actually moving through their discipleship journey. More than 80 metrics visualized in 8 comprehensive Dashboards. From first-time visits to serving, giving, and leading, you can see where people are engaging and where they may be getting stuck.

This kind of visibility helps leaders move beyond assumptions and guide people toward meaningful next steps with clarity and confidence.

Improving church member retention starts with visibility.

ChurchIQ helps you identify early signs of disengagement, like declining attendance, reduced giving, or lack of next steps, so you can respond before someone quietly disconnects.

When paired with Waypoint, you can take action immediately. Instead of generic communication, you can reach out with personalized, timely messages that encourage people back into connection.

It’s not about reacting after people leave. It’s about proactively caring for people so they feel seen, known, and supported along the way.

The challenge isn’t a lack of data, it’s a lack of clarity.

ChurchIQ simplifies your church data by bringing everything into one place and highlighting what actually matters. Instead of sorting through reports from multiple systems, you get clear insight into what’s working, what’s not, and where to focus next.

That means better decisions for your team, stronger alignment across ministries, and more intentional discipleship, without adding complexity to your workflow.

Donor health is a module or reporting dashboard in ChurchIQ that helps churches understand generosity patterns over time—not just giving totals.

Who is growing?

Who is drifting?

Who may need pastoral care?

Giving trends often reveal a discipleship story long before a conversation happens.

ChurchIQ helps leaders see those patterns clearly so stewardship becomes proactive instead of reactive.

ChurchIQ is your church analytics platform—it shows you what’s happening.
Waypoint is your church communication platform—it helps you act on it.

When used together, your data turns into action. The audiences you identify in ChurchIQ can be segmented and messaged directly through Waypoint, so the right people receive the right message at the right time.

This also becomes a powerful church retention strategy. ChurchIQ helps you spot early signs of disengagement, so you can respond before someone drifts away. Instead of reacting after the fact, you can proactively meet needs and guide people back into connection, dynamically.

Waypoint’s automated messaging doesn’t replace pastoral care, it supports it. It allows your team to disciple and follow up consistently at scale, ensuring more people are seen, known, and encouraged in their next step.

For example, Donor Health insights don’t just highlight trends, they reveal ministry opportunities down to the individual person. Instead of guessing who needs encouragement, you can respond with clarity and purpose.

It’s a complete loop: insight → action → engagement → retention.

Because better data isn’t just about reporting, it’s about helping people feel seen, known, and cared for before they slip through the cracks.

Implementation & Onboarding

At StudioC, onboarding is more than a technical setup—it’s the foundation for long-term discipleship clarity and a strong partnership.

Our Waypoint onboarding process helps your church connect to our system, define discipleship next steps, train on our tool, and launch a personalized mobile dashboard designed to support intentional member engagement.

Setup and Onboarding Includes:
  • Building your custom data warehouse
  • Integrating with your current platforms
  • Defining your church’s discipleship next steps
  • Mapping data logic to next-step pathways
  • Training your MarCom team on the Waypoint platform
  • Training on Waypoint’s email and SMS platforms, if add-ons are included
  • Testing and launching your new system

We don’t believe in installing software and hoping for the best.

We work alongside your team to connect your systems, equip your staff, and support a member engagement strategy that creates lasting discipleship impact. We value long-term partnership and continue to encourage and support your team as you grow.

At StudioC, onboarding is more than a technical setup—it’s the foundation for long-term discipleship clarity and a strong partnership.

Our ChurchIQ onboarding process helps your church connect systems to our platform that are needed for reporting, define discipleship next steps and mapping logic, and make sure the reporting dashboards are syncing and working properly to display data.

Setup and Onboarding Includes:
  • Building your custom data warehouse
  • Integrating with your current systems needed for reporting (eg. ChMS, giving platform, etc)
  • Mapping data logic to our standard discipleship next-steps
  • Testing and launching your reporting dashboards
  • Training your team on the ChurchIQ platform

We don’t believe in just connecting you and hoping for the best.

We work alongside your team to connect your systems, equip your staff, and support the meaningful insights for leaders to implement a member engagement strategy that creates lasting discipleship impact.

Again, we value a long-term partnership and continue to encourage and support your team as you grow.

Waypoint onboarding typically takes 55-65 business days, though timeline depends on:

  • Current onboarding queue
  • Complexity of your existing systems
  • Responsiveness of your team
  • Custom integration requirements

ChurchIQ onboarding takes 30-45 business days. However, again, the timeline depends on:

  • Current onboarding queue
  • Complexity of your existing systems
  • Responsiveness of your team
  • Custom integration requirements

The reality is that there’s not one “right” answer. So much depends on the context of your situation. The solution is designed to be user-friendly with no coding experience necessary, but effective member engagement requires intentional management. We recommend:

Minimum: One part-time person (10-15 hours/week) dedicated to messaging coordination
Optimal: One full-time MarComm person who becomes your omnichannel communications expert

The goal is shepherding people through their discipleship journey with both digital and personal touchpoints. This approach elevates the role of marketing and communications within your church, recognizing it as strategic ministry rather than just announcements.

No problem. Many growing churches find themselves in this position. We offer “Done WITH You” MarCom Coaching alongside your team, and “Done FOR You” Managed Services where our team handles messaging strategy and execution on your behalf. Service levels range from basic message creation to full strategy and omnichannel campaign management. Either way, you get an MES ninja at a fraction of the cost of an FTE.

This allows you to implement sophisticated member engagement while building internal communications capacity over time.

We recommend access to at least part-time design resources for optimal results. While our solution includes a standard image gallery, truly personalized messaging benefits from custom photography and graphics that reflect your actual congregation and community rather than using only stock photos.

This helps members see themselves in your communications and creates stronger emotional connections to your messaging.

No. We built the tool specifically for the MarComm person who has no experience with coding or development. With a simple, intuitive user interface, you or your team are able to execute in real time.

This is actually one of our strongest value-adds to churches. Through our Implementation Services, we help churches clarify their discipleship pathway and align their communication strategy accordingly. Many churches have informal next steps but haven't systematized them for scalable engagement.

Our Strategic Workshop(s) guide you through defining clear, measurable discipleship steps that work for your church culture and ministry philosophy. We then map these into Waypoint for automated, personalized messaging. We can assist with further alignment of your staff through additional Workshops, as well.

Yes, thorough training is included in MES onboarding.

Our mission is not to just sell software. Our goal is to improve church member engagement and grow churches, and the kingdom.

We are very hands on and partner with you to give your team the opportunity to become experts of the software, strategize marketing plans, maximize messaging, brainstorm and schedule campaigns, monitor progress and continue to develop new approaches to knowing your members and growing your church.

If you would like help running the MES on your behalf, either during certain times of the year, to supplement your communications team, or to manage it completely, explore how our Managed Services can support your needs at a tactical level.

Not necessarily, but it is useful to have some marketing experience.

We partner with our church clients and provide white-glove customer care. We will walk along side you and train your team as  you implement the member engagement strategy.

Understanding that there is a 'science to messaging', and not just a 'feeling', is needed to manage this most successfully. The premise of understanding true 'promotion' and how it relates to church, from standard marketing methodologies is beneficial.

Additional Services

No, you don’t have to, but we do offer Mobile App Refresh and Website (re-)Design services. Connect With Us to schedule a call for us to assess your needs and determine the best path forward.

Such a great question. Yes, we can. Our Data Services helps you with data strategy development, hygiene improvement, and analytics consulting.

Yes, we'd love to help. We know how busy church staff are, and member engagement strategy often gets pushed to the back burner even though it's important. We want to partner with you to implement a sustainable approach that works for your team long-term.

Our service options include:

Implementation Workshops - Intensive alignment and training sessions with your leadership team to build internal capacity and lay the foundation for effective strategy and execution.

Managed Services - We strategize and coordinate your dashboard messaging and omni-channel campaigns on an ongoing monthly basis, handling everything from content creation to scheduling and tracking results.

Team Support & Training - We supplement your MarCom team with additional expertise, whether for temporary projects, seasonal needs, or long-term partnership.

What works for most churches: Many start by having us handle the heavy lifting while their team learns the ropes. Others prefer to keep some pastoral, relationship-focused messaging in-house while we manage the next steps strategy, messaging rotations, and automation. Some churches have us train their staff and then step back to a coaching role.

We're flexible: Whether you need us to run everything, train your team, help during busy seasons, or just be there when questions come up – we can adjust to what makes sense for your staff and budget.

Bottomline: Your members deserve thoughtful, personalized communication that helps them grow in their faith. We're here to help make that happen, whether we're doing it with you or on your behalf.

Pricing

Depends on which product you’re referring to: the Member Engagement Solution (MES) or ChurchIQ, our data analytics solution.

MES pricing is tiered based on average total weekend attendance, reflecting the scope of hosting your custom data warehouse, ongoing maintenance, continuous innovation, and our white-glove personalized service:

Member Engagement Solution (MES) Pricing Tiers:

  • Lite (0-499 attendance): $2,500 setup / $350 monthly
  • Custom (500-9,999 attendance): Starting at $3,500 setup / $600 monthly
  • Enterprise (10K+ attendance): Starting at $10,000 setup / $1,800 monthly

What's included in Setup: Custom data warehouse creation, system integrations, badge configuration, data mapping, staff training, and platform launch.

What's included monthly: Platform hosting, ongoing support, system maintenance, feature updates, and analytics reporting.

Setup fees vary based on integration complexity, custom badge requirements, and data mapping scope. Monthly subscriptions begin 30 days after contract signing.

See detailed MES pricing tiers here

ChurchIQ pricing is at a flat rate of $250/mo, with a $900 setup fee, regardless of church size. The setup fee is waived when bundled with the MES. And if you choose to start with ChurchIQ and then add the MES at a later date, we’ll apply the $900 setup fee toward the MES setup fee so you’re not paying for it twice.

Our fully-integrated email platform also has tier-based pricing that includes generous usage allocations adjusted based on volume. We HIGHLY encourage you to compare your current email solution and cost to our Email Features & Pricing.

While most churches rely on email as the primary communication channel, all of our clients have recouped significant savings by reducing their email usage and master list size after making the in-app Member Dashboard the primary channel of all communication.

We use tier-based allowances with no overage fees. Email tiers estimate 12 sends per month × your total contacts, which works well for most churches when you're being strategic about communication.

Here's our thinking: Effective member engagement isn't about sending more emails – it's about sending the right emails to the right people. Your mobile app should be the primary hub for member communication, with email used for targeted audiences and purposes.

In practice: Churches following these best practices typically stay comfortably within allowances while seeing better engagement rates. If your ministry strategy genuinely requires higher volumes, we're happy to adjust your tier after we see consistent usage patterns over a few months.

Flexibility: We don't penalize you for seasonal spikes (Christmas, Easter, weather emergencies). We only consider tier adjustments after 3+ consecutive months of higher usage.

Our fully-integrated SMS platform also has tier-based pricing that includes generous usage allocations adjusted based on volume. We HIGHLY encourage you to compare your current SMS solution and cost to our Texting Features & Pricing.

We use tier-based allowances with no overage fees. SMS tiers estimate 5 sends per month × your average weekend attendance.

Our recommendation: SMS works best for urgent, time-sensitive communications rather than general announcements. When used this way, most churches stay well within allowances and see much higher engagement rates.

What we've learned: Churches that treat SMS as their primary communication channel often see declining response rates and member fatigue. Your mobile app and email are better suited for regular updates and information sharing. We developed this SMS Guide to Not Annoy Your Entire Church to assist you in developing your strategy.

Flexibility: We accommodate seasonal needs and special circumstances without fees. If your communication strategy consistently requires higher SMS volumes over 3+ months, we'll upgrade you to a tier that better fits your approach.

You can add whatever you like. Neither are required, but when you add one or both, you get unified engagement tracking, dynamic segmentation by channel preference, cross-platform personalization, and full-view reporting.

Unfortunately, we can’t. Our solutions are sophisticated and require mapping to your existing data in order to deliver the full value. There’s simply no way to offer a free version without incurring the significant cost of the initial setup.

Getting Started

While our sweet spot is churches with 800+ attendance, we work with churches of all sizes. We encourage every church to think strategically about member engagement, regardless of size.

For churches under 200, you might still effectively manage personal connections one-on-one, but it's wise to plan for growth. Our system scales with you – whether you start at 200 or 2,000 members, you'll be equipped for personalized engagement as you grow.

We won't push our software on churches where it's not yet a value-add, but we're happy to consult on member engagement strategy and remain available as you grow.

StudioC is ideal for churches that:

  • Want to move beyond mass communication to personalized engagement
  • Struggle to shepherd members effectively between Sundays
  • Have growth that's outpacing their ability to maintain personal connections
  • Value data-driven ministry decisions
  • Want to maximize their existing technology investments
  • Are committed to intentional discipleship pathways

If you're seeing numeric growth but struggling with engagement depth, or if your communication feels scattered and ineffective, StudioC can help transform your member engagement strategy. Connect with us to start the conversation.

Connect with us for an initial conversation about your church's current challenges and goals. We'll help you understand how the MES could fit your specific situation and what implementation might look like.

Many churches also benefit from starting with our Member Engagement Assessment to benchmark current capabilities and identify improvement opportunities before implementing technology solutions.

Comparison & Competitive

Those tools are great for sending emails. StudioC is built for something deeper: personalized discipleship at scale. We dynamically segment your audience based on engagement and spiritual milestones, deliver personalized messages across email, SMS, and mobile app channels, and provide actionable insights that help pastors shepherd more effectively. Our system was built specifically for churches—not for ecommerce or general marketing.

Most built-in tools focus on basic list-based messaging. StudioC builds on top of your existing ChMS with dynamic segmentation, next-step logic, real-time engagement tracking, and automated cross-channel communication. We don’t replace your ChMS—we make it smarter. While a few features may seem redundant, it’s about using the right tool at the right time. StudioC equips your MarCom team with strategic tools that deepen discipleship and empower ministry teams to encourage meaningful next steps.

Social media is valuable—but it serves a different purpose.

Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are great for raising awareness, reaching new people, and helping them discover your church. But you're still dependent on algorithms, timing, and competing content.

That's why we view social media primarily as an outreach tool.

StudioC is built for what happens next. We help churches engage the people who are already connected and guide them toward meaningful next steps in their faith journey through personalized communication and discipleship pathways.

Social media helps people find your church. StudioC helps you shepherd the people who have already found it.

You can—and some churches have tried. But building and maintaining a secure, scalable engagement system that integrates with your (often changing) tech stack and adapts to discipleship models takes serious time, budget, and technical expertise. We created StudioC so you don’t have to reinvent the wheel—and so your staff can focus on ministry, not code.

That said, we understand the appeal of a custom build. Since we have a mutual desire to grow the Kingdom, we’d be doing you a disservice if we didn’t equip you with the right questions to evaluate the options. Download our Build vs. Buy Guide that offers 4 critical questions to guide your decision.

Because disconnected tools create disconnected ministry.

Most churches already have good systems—they just don’t work together.

Your ChMS stores data.
Your app drives engagement.
Your email and SMS send messages.
And your team is left trying to connect the dots manually.

StudioC brings those systems together into one unified engagement strategy—so your team can stop managing platforms and start guiding people.

Instead of juggling tools, you gain clarity across your entire ministry.

StudioC integrates with your existing church systems to create one connected experience—making engagement more effective, more personal, and far easier to manage.

Yes. Absolutely.

Custom development sounds simple until you account for integrations, security, maintenance, reporting logic, and ongoing support.

Most churches don’t need another software project.

They need a proven system that works.

We built StudioC so your staff can focus on ministry, not the technical work behind the scenes.

Contract & Business Terms

For MES, Email, SMS, and Managed Services: The initial contract length is typically for 12 months. After the first 12-month period, clients are transferred to a month-to-month contract requiring 30 days notice to cancel.

For ChurchIQ: Contracts are all month-to-month, requiring 30 days notice to cancel.

Not at this time.

Yes. If you'd prefer to budget for the whole year and prepay your contract, our Finance team will assist you with invoicing and payment arrangements.

Growth & Scalability

Pricing is based on annual AWA, annual review of AWA will take place with notification of tier pricing increases, accordingly.

Yes, you can. Churches under 500 AWA can begin with our Lite tier using standard badges and upgrade to include custom badges whenever it makes sense for your ministry.

All of our tiers include full feature access to the MES platform. Standard badges cover the most common discipleship steps (Attend, Baptism, Giving, Groups, Serving) with pre-built logic, while custom badges involve additional data mapping for your church's unique discipleship pathway.

If you decide to upgrade later, we'll invoice the difference in setup fees along with any subscription adjustments. Smaller churches may find starting with standard badges helps them understand the platform before investing in custom configuration.

Annual AWA is used to take into account seasonal attendance fluctuations.

Security & Compliance

Yes. StudioC uses industry best practices to secure your data. All information is encrypted in transit using HTTPS and TLS 2.0. We host our infrastructure in Amazon Web Services (AWS), which meets strict physical and digital security standards. Only essential personnel have access to sensitive systems, and we enforce strong password policies and two-factor authentication where applicable. We never log passwords or security tokens.

We isolate each church’s data in its own database within our secure virtual private cloud (VPC). Access is tightly controlled and monitored. Backups are done daily, with multiple layers of redundancy to prevent loss. Our systems are built with disaster recovery and data integrity in mind, and we never share or sell your data – ever.

Your church's financial information is protected by industry-leading security measures when processing subscription payments and invoices. We only work with payment processors that meet the highest security standards – PCI Service Provider Level 1 certification. This includes Stripe, HubSpot, and/or Intuit, all of which are among the most trusted and advanced payment processors worldwide.

Upon contract termination, our Services team will provide you with a document outlining the data deletion timeline for your execution. At the end of that period, all of your data is permanently deleted and your dedicated data warehouse is completely removed, including any and all integrations.

Should you decide to restart services with StudioC in the future, a full setup process and applicable fees would be required since no data is retained.

Support & Training

We believe in true partnership, not just software delivery. We offer every client monthly 1:1 meetings to review usage analytics and strategize improvements. We also curate fresh content for our message gallery quarterly and send bi-monthly newsletters with inspiration and practical insights.

For immediate help, we maintain a robust knowledge base and help center with step-by-step guides, best practices, and troubleshooting resources. Our support team is also available for technical questions and guidance as you navigate member engagement strategy.

Beyond that, we encourage clients to join StudioC's private Facebook group where our team moderates community discussions, and churches share wins, challenges, and creative ideas with each other.

We provide new user training during Onboarding, and offer additional training and support as requested by the client. We also have a robust Knowledge Center with video and written tutorials for those that prefer independent learning or doing a deeper dive at their own pace.

Our office hours are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm MST. We offer after hours support through our Support Center ticketing system which can be used 24/7.

StudioC does not act as the frontline helpdesk for members of the church.  Members will contact the existing customer support at their church for problem resolution. The church client would then raise a Technical Assistance Request (TAR) with StudioC on behalf of the members if the issue could not be resolved through general guidance.
