Transaction Science, Inc.

Every transaction is energy.
Every joule signs a receipt.

A tax return, a property closing, a trade, a call, a claim, a course — energy becoming work in the world. Twenty-two pillars. One ledger. One billing unit.

Open Standards

Open protocols. Ownerless. Stewarded.

Apache-2.0 reference implementations in Rust. Pinned at 1.96.0. The protocols are public; the moat is the registry, the services, and the authoring tools.

Payment acceptance

OpenPay

An open standard for accepting payments — issuer, acquirer, terminal, dispute, settlement. Apache-2.0 reference implementation in Rust.

Value substrate

Smart Byte

A neutral value substrate — every byte carries provenance, every transfer signs a receipt. Protocol is ownerless; TX Science is the steward.

Energy-optimized compute

EOC

Energy-Optimized Compute — bill AI inference in joules, route work to the cheapest tier, expose the grid-mix per call. Open spec.

Media transport

WAI

Web AI Media Transport & Execution — an envelope + capability dispatch for media. SOTA codec menu as the floor; neural shared-prior path on top. Apache-2.0, Rust reference impl. Used by CommunicationOS.

Energy-optimized AI runtime

JouleClaw

A pure-Rust AI runtime that dispatches every operation through a 5-tier cascade — L0:Cache → L1:Lawful → L2:Embed → L3:Model → L4:Wire. Inference is the last resort, not the entry point. Honest microjoule accounting with explicit Provenance (HwShunt / ModelBased / Estimator). Apache-2.0.

AI Readiness Level

ARL

A universal, vendor-neutral yardstick for the readiness of an AI system to do a defined task — what TRL is to technology. Four parts anchored in math or physics: validation depth, convergence class, energy profile, security class, with cross-axis gates. CC-BY-4.0.

A carrier for coding work

Joule Code

The coding cargo class of the substrate — an edit, a refactor, a generated function as a content-addressed, signed transition over a source tree with its energy cost intrinsic. Remote frontier agents are the L4 escape hatch; the protocol carries no token. Apache-2.0.

Read the spec →
Isolate the whole fabric

Sandbox

Isolated, capability-gated, metered, and attested execution across the heterogeneous compute fabric — CPU, GPU, NPU, TPU, photonic, quantum. Eight isolation tiers (S0–S7); the accelerator is a first-class capability, a metered resource, and an attested line item. Apache-2.0.

A carrier for place

Map

The geospatial cargo class — a region at a position, altitude, instant, and fidelity is a content-addressed, signed tile with its energy cost intrinsic, packed into a range-requestable tileset on dumb storage. An F0–F4 fidelity cascade with a base floor defined everywhere. Apache-2.0, Rust reference impl; demonstrated by a wgpu globe at maps.transaction.science.

A carrier for access

Access

A shared access-core kernel — access methods, gaze, voice, signed receipts — under two surfaces: Express (aac.transaction.science) for augmentative & alternative communication, and Lumina (lumina.transaction.science) for reading. The board and the document are portable files, free at the protocol layer. Apache-2.0.

Read the spec →
A carrier for verified work

proof

Energy-accounted formal verification — a content-addressed proof obligation, a cheapest-sufficient solver cascade with disclosed escalation, and a signed receipt recording which tier closed it and the joules it cost. Correctness stays the verifier's; a proof is not a specification. JouleProof is the steward. Apache-2.0 / CC-BY-4.0.

Joule Context Protocol

JCP

A unified, energy-native, capability-secured protocol for agentic systems. Every actor is a did:key; every authority is a signed, bounded, debited Grant — a capability and its joule budget in one object. Authorization and metering are decided outside the model and sealed in a receipt; a tool's output can never take control; delegation only narrows. Apache-2.0 / CC-BY-4.0.

The wire format

Twenty-two pillars. One receipt.

Same identity, same audit format, same billing unit (joules), same wire transport across every vertical. Pick a pillar. Hover any field. See what each one means.

Open the receipt explorer →

What we believe

Three statements. Each is the proof of the next.

Receipts are the audit trail.

Every operational event in Transaction Science emits a signed JWP ReceiptPayload. Forging the audit means forging a signature. The format is the same across all 22 pillars.

Inspect a receipt →
Joules are the billing unit.

A query, a wire, a credential, a recording — each costs measurable energy. Insights aggregates the joules; CSRD reports are projections over the receipt log, not separate compilations.

Watch the energy flow →
Standards are the substrate.

ISO 20022, FIX, FHIR, ACORD, OSCAL, OID4VP, MoQT, MLS, OpenBadges, OpenTofu — every pillar speaks the protocols the regulated world already runs on.
