Spring brings the promise of brighter days and new beginnings. Because of supporters like you, brighter days are possible for children and adults with disabilities who rely on Turnstone Center for therapy, fitness, and critical support.
Today, more than 700 individuals in our community are waiting for services that build strength, independence, and confidence. At the same time, declining donations and shrinking reimbursements have created a $200,000 gap in this year’s operating budget.
But there is hopeful news.
A generous Turnstone Champion has stepped forward to sponsor a $200,000 Giving Challenge. Every dollar donated between March 1 and June 30, 2026 will help us access challenge funds as we work together to close the gap.

As one of eleven Olympic & Paralympic Training Sites, Turnstone is committed to supporting the Paralympic movement and providing programs and opportunities for our athletes to hone their skills and further their athletic goals.
Thanks to a generous matching donation of $50,000 and with Jeff Butler as Chair, the Butler Family Elite Athlete Scholarship Fund aims to support these rising and elite Paralympic Athletes training at Turnstone. This fund will help provide scholarships to athletes who are pursuing their Paralympic dreams.

Turnstone values its philanthropic supporters and is committed to fulfilling all elements of the Donor Bill of Rights.
Because Turnstone relies on the support of individual donors to carry out our work, Turnstone considers all donations to be nonrefundable and irrevocable, including tickets to special events.
However, Turnstone will consider returning donations to the donor under these circumstances:
If the donation was made unknowingly, for example, in a situation where the donation was made with a stolen or lost card.
If your donation was intended for another organization.
If you accidentally entered the wrong amount or made a duplicate gift.
If you accidentally created a monthly donation when your intention was to make a one-time gift.
If we are unable to honor donor restrictions. Turnstone makes every effort to honor donor-requested restrictions and use donations in a manner consistent with donor-expressed wishes. Donors can also re-designate their gift to another purpose in these situations.
Other similar exceptional circumstances.
Refund Terms and Conditions
Refund requests must be made within 30 days of the date of the donation; this applies to both one-time, recurring donations, and special event tickets and will be considered at the sole discretion of Turnstone. Gifts from our generous donors are swiftly employed in our mission-driven work, and Turnstone will not process refunds requested later than 30 days after the transaction. Fraudulent transactions are an exception to this time limit.
Refunds are made using the original method of payment. For example, if you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that card. Turnstone may ask for proof of identity and backup documentation before issuing a refund. You are responsible for any and all tax considerations that may arise if your donation is refunded.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund of your donation made directly to Turnstone, please email Rena Shown, Chief of Development and Strategic Partnerships, at [email protected] and provide:
- Your name
- The date on which the donation was made
- The total amount of the relevant donation
- Your payment method and all relevant circumstances justifying your request.
Upon receipt, we will review your request and respond to you within two business days. If your request is accepted, we will process the refund as quickly as possible. Please note it may take 10-14 business days until a refund reaches your account.
