An introductory video from our 2024 conference
Struck by this group of carved graffiti on a wall on Silver Street in Cambridge, which I must have walked past a thousand times but only noticed when I was walking along there with @lepuwana recently. Join me @alice_seshat @lepuwana and Helen Magowan on Thursday 30th April, 19.00-21.00 BST, for a discussion of Writing As Rhythm with the Rhythmicity series of Cambridge LASER talks. We will be reprising topics that featured in the panel discussion at the start of our recent Jamigraphy event. We are delighted to announce our programme of seminars for the coming term. Visit our #linktreeinbio👈🏻 for a link to details and zoom registration. The last day of our conference, WAVE 2: Writing As Visual Engagement, takes place tomorrow, Saturday 11th April, 10.50-16.15 BST (UTC+1). Join us for a feast of writing-related wonders! Our recent conference WAVE 2: Writing As Visual Engagement was wonderful in so many ways, one of which was that it involved many people practising writing in diverse scripts from around the world - on badges and notebooks and especially on the walls! Thank you @alice_seshat for the inspiration 🤩 - and to everyone who contributed information sheets and taught people how to write their names in their scripts. So wonderful meeting @mystic._.j in person for our conference - truly embodying his work on Nsibidi 🤩 WAVE 2: Writing As Visual Engagement begins tomorrow, with papers on writing traditions around the world, historical and contemporary. You can listen online via zoom - find programme, abstracts and registration link on our website. #linktreeinbio👈🏻 We are getting ready for our Jamigraphy workshop with @alice_seshat on Saturday. So excited! WAVE 2: Writing As Visual Engagement Conference: 26th-29th March (hybrid) and 11th April (online), at @classicsatcambridge @cambridgeuniversity

Another thing new followers may not realise is that we run the Endangered Writing Network, which aims to bring people from varied backgrounds together to tackle problems of language and writing endangerment. So we are interested... 1/3viewsproject.wordpress.com/endangered-w...
