Research
The focus is on conservation and welfare driven research projects at the trust and with our partners, universities and research bodies. From housing to husbandry, the research carried out aims to help other organisations and individuals improve the work carried out both in-situ and ex-situ. Working in collaboration with other conservation organisations and people working with vultures to try and improve best practices.
All of our projects are reviewed by our Ethics and Welfare Committee, and you can find out more below. With birds housed in both breeding pairs, and colony aviaries within our collection we are able to carry out research into their behaviours both around courtship and nesting, but also around social interactions and hierarchy within the colonies.
If you would like to know more about any of our work, or would like to speak to us about a potential project, please get in touch with the team.
