I'm a computer hacker who uses tech skills in the creation of visual images. I'm diagnosed with high-functioning autism, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder, which probably influence my art to some degree. My style is bold and edgy, with high contrast, bright colors, and an overall "techie" vibe. My primary tools are GIMP, Processing, and DreamUp, and I also use a text editor for databending. I'm also a musician and make electronic music, which I sell through my BandCamp site.

I'm a dark empath and a cerebral narcissist. I'm openly sexist but still support women's rights. Pro-capitalism and pro-business but against unmitigated free markets. Pro-reason and anti-stupidity. Pro-spirituality and anti-dogma. I'm a radical realist. I believe in viewing things as they are rather than as they ought to be, and that opinions should be based on objective inquiry rather than ideology. I support sexual liberation and de-stigmatization of nudity. I believe a thing is only bad if it causes tangible, measurable harm. Symbolic harm and offenses against morality are meaningless concepts. I value freedom and authenticity above all other things. I'm shamelessly Machiavellian without being dishonest. I'm known for being extremely generous at times and extremely callous at others. I am neither good nor evil, I am simply logical.

I believe marketing is an essential part of art. I want to be an affluent artist, not a starving artist. That means I view my art venture as a brand, and I believe that a good brand is one that constantly innovates. Here are some of the innovations of the Phracker brand:

Hexels: Pixellated fractal art with diagonal pixels.
Noise art: Using statistical noise distributions for visual effect.
Deep horror: Exploiting the distorted nature of AI-generated art to produce uniquely horrifying creepypasta abominations.
Holofoil style: A style of glitch art that involves a unique combination of color separation, motion blur, databending, edge detect, and overlaying to produce an iridescent appearance.
Cosine bending: A form of databending that manipulates the parameters of the discrete cosine transform algorithm used to compress a JPEG.
Pre-glitch style: Glitch-like effect achieved by pixellating and then sharpening an image.
Code art: Art that combines imagery with computer code or ASCII/ANSI characters.
Raster art: Artwork made to look like a rendering by a raster scan on a vintage CRT computer monitor.
Edgecore style: A style of glitch art that involves applying cosine bending to get a blocky appearance and then applying vertical and/or horizontal shift lines to a get a vibe that's vaguely reminiscent of pixel sorting but still different.

Someone on this site asked me what art hacking is, so I decided I should probably write a journal entry explaining it. So here goes... "Art hacking" is a term I first encountered in 2015 when I was taking an adult education class that more or less focused on that subject. In this class we looked at different tools used to bring art into the Information Age - tools like Arduino, Processing, Inkscape, etc. For some reason I was the only person who signed up for that course, so the whole thing ended up being a one-on-one with me and the instructor. He introduced me to the concept of art hacking, which I will define as follows... Art hacking, at least the way I define it, consists of three related and overlapping activities having to do with digital art: Hacking art - that is, taking image files and dissecting them and manipulating the data in new and creative ways. Be careful around someone who makes racist or dark jokes and chalks it up to being edgy. Sometimes the whole "edgelord" persona is just a cover for being genuinely evil. The way to test this is to make an edgy joke in the opposite direction and see if they get offended. For example, if someone makes a joke about trans suicides, reply with a joke making fun of Charlie Kirk's death. If they get all livid, they're not actually an edgelord, they're just an asshole. You see this with people like Onision too. For years people thought he was just an edgy teenager who liked to make light of sexual assault and joked about being attracted to minors, but eventually he ended up revealing that he was genuinely a sociopath and was just hiding behind the "edgelord" persona. Just another example to make this concept more concrete. To be clear, I'm not saying every edgelord is a sociopath or psychopath in disguise, I'm just saying you have to be skeptical and judge them on a case-by-case basis.

I've made a tentative decision that if Trump's fascist actions force NATO or some other entity to launch an invasion of the US, and the US military starts drafting everybody including autistics, not only will I dodge the draft and not fight for the US military, I'll actually fight for the opposing side. Hopefully putting this out there will convince others to make the same decision. I refuse to risk my life in combat solely to aid and abet a fascist government. If Trump needs more soldiers, he can send Barron to the front lines, or better yet, go to the front lines himself.

So weird that Google - the platform that won't even let you hotlink to an image because bypassing the sites those images are on deprives the site owners of their ad revenue - is now bypassing other sites completely in an effort to turn the search engine into another clone of ChatGPT. Also, if the sites whose data Google is scraping have their traffic go to zero overnight, then yes, they will lose all their ad revenue and be forced to shut down, and then there will be no web for Google to scrape. Something tells me they either didn't think this one through or just decided they only care about short-term profits and don't care if everything goes tits-up in a couple years.

What I love exploring with the peoples of my Chronicles of ChaOs is the idea that even in such a harsh world, life is still there: fragile, stubborn, sometimes even joyful. That contrast is what makes the world feel truly alive… and makes the losses hit even harder when characters have had time to truly connect with those they meet.
