The Native Forward logo is colorful, memorable, and timeless.

At first glance this logo is representative of a “new day or new beginning” with the sun rising over the mountain. However, there is deeper meaning here. The mountain signifies the foundation that Native Forward was built on and the sun represents the rising scholar. The linear and multi-colored nature of the logo symbolizes the various voices from Native communities coming together and working as one. The ribbon-like shape not only speaks to scholarly success, but may also represent Native ribbon work.

Vision

Building on a 50-year legacy, Native Forward Scholars Fund will continue to be the premier national resource in funding and empowering the next generation of Native leaders across all sectors, by meeting the unmet need of every Native American student.

Mission

We provide financial support for American Indians and Alaska Natives seeking higher education, and support them in attaining undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. We partner with Tribes, the federal government, foundations, corporations, and individuals to ensure the growth and sustainability of scholarships.

Being a Native Forward Scholar means a lot to me. It helps encourage and empower me in all the work I have been doing and continue to do for my family, community, and my people.

It has allowed me to expand my knowledge and relationships.

With the Native Forward Scholarship, I can continue my educational dream of being an Athletic Trainer. This scholarship has helped me see how much impact my education can have.

Being a Native Forward Scholar is not only just receiving the scholarship money and getting a check mark after my name. It's creating a community we don't really have in higher education. The impact that Native Forward has for me on a personal level is huge. It's how I am funding my undergraduate and graduate level education. It gives me a sense of responsibility and belonging in higher education.

Being a Native Forward Scholar means showing my community and the students and families I work with that you are never too young or too old to start anywhere in life. I started college at an older age and being part of Native Forward has helped me pursue my dream of being a social worker. The scholarship from Native Forward has allowed me to pursue my educational goals. It has put me in a different spot where my voice matters.
