    ⚔️#OTD 1642, Aftermath - Battle of Edgehill. Sir Gervase Scrope is found alive with 16 wounds, having been stripped and left for dead after the battle, 2 days earlier. The cold had stemmed blood loss.

    📅#OTD 1642, Elizabeth of Bohemia writes about Henrietta Maria's arrival in Holland. She notes that a baggage ship sank with holy objects & the clothes of the Queen's ladies. In 2014, items from the wreck were found. Dr Nadine Akkerman discovered Elizabeth's reference to them.
