If you are born in the U.S., you are a U.S. citizen. Period. The 14th Amendment clearly says so. The Supreme Court has affirmed it for more than 125 years. That's why I'm suing Pres. Trump to block his unconstitutional executive order purporting to end birthright citizenship.

BREAKING: I'm suing the Trump administration to prevent them from suspending SNAP benefits. I will not allow Trump to use hungry children as bargaining chips. USDA has a multi-billion dollar contingency fund intended to keep programs like SNAP running. They must use it.

Let me make something clear: it's not the job of local law enforcement in Minnesota to carry out the dictates of the Trump administration.

Today, I joined my fellow attorneys general condemning the DOJ persecution of AG James. This abuse of power threatens the integrity of our legal system. We stand with Tish James and we will not back down.

We cannot sit back and hope that things will get better 13 days from now. We must hold the President of the United States accountable today, using any and all tools available.

It with a large degree of humility and a great seriousness, I accept for my office the responsibility for leadership on this critical case involving the killing of George Floyd. We are going to bring to bear all the resources necessary to achieve justice in this case.

George Floyd mattered. Somebody loved him. His life had value. He lost it yesterday in a way that raises pain and trauma once again for so many. We owe it to everyone affected to investigate thoroughly. We will seek justice and we will find it.

If allowed to stand, individuals stripped of their rightful U.S. citizenship would be forced to live under constant threat of deportation while lacking clear citizenship in any other nation. At least 150K children born each year would be denied guaranteed rights and protections.

I've issued a binding opinion that public schools may not deny students' participation in graduation ceremonies bc of unpaid meal debts. Under MN law, the dignity &respect that comes from participating in a grad ceremony cannot be restricted by your ability to afford your life.

ICYMI last night a court blocked Elon Musk’s hacker bros from accessing your personal info at the Treasury Dept. 18 AGs and I brought that lawsuit. We’re not stopping until your personal data is safe, the hackers are out of our government, and Musk obeys American law.

Ppl protesting in person to “liberate” MN right now are irresponsible, dangerous & risking Minnesotans’ lives. Doubt it? Look at SoDak: they’re not sheltering in place & have >4x MN’s rate of cases. They’re 15th in US; MN is 50th. In SD they’re free to get sick & infect others.
