- Damn. Over 50 reviews and STILL at 100% on RT. That’s rare for any film, let alone a major studio movie.
- Love how in SINNERS, Coogler didn’t take the easy joke of portraying the white music as “bad” in contrast to the Black music. Instead, he makes it just as alluring to mirror the temptation of turning to the vampire life.
- Fun fact: this is the first time ever where two horror movies in the same year were in the A range on CinemaScore.
- Is THE BATMAN the closest a superhero flick has gotten to actually resembling a horror film?
- TOY STORY 3 was the end of Andy's story. TOY STORY 4 was the end of Woody's story. What the fuck is TOY STORY 5 supposed to be?
- #Sinners is even better on a second watch. It is mind-blowing how Ryan Coogler took a vampire story and turned it into an all-encompassing spiritual journey covering oppression and the history of music, all the while making it look effortless. A jaw-dropping cinematic experience.
- If JOKER can get nominated for Best Picture, there’s no reason why THE BATMAN shouldn’t.
- Kinda wild that Emma Stone has two acting Oscars by 35 and both of them are for Lead. The last time this happened was with Hilary Swank. And I TOTALLY buy that Stone can get another one. She's a force to be reckoned with. Who would've expected all of this for her a decade ago?
- Greta Gerwig this, Greta Gerwig that. Can we talk about how Celine Song deserved a Best Director nomination?
- I’m glad James Gunn knows that the true song theme of the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY movies isn’t “Hooked on a Feeling”, but rather “Come and Get Your Love”.
