If god forbid a leftist like Hasan Piker were killed, a lot of centrist Dems wouldn’t even publicly mourn him. The idea that any GOP governor would fly flags at half mast for him, like Dem govs are doing for Kirk, is beyond laughable. That’s the imbalance we have in this country.

I decided to rewatch the first Gladiator to get ready for Gladiator II, and man, I had forgotten the moral depravity of this film. The movie basically celebrates Maximus’s killing of Commodus in the end. Like, come on, that’s a human being — a brother, an uncle, a son.

It's just so clear not only that Bernie would have won, but that he could've created a new opening to channel all the alienation and anger that today is pushing young men towards fascism. We had the perfect answer to right-wing authoritarianism, and Dem elites spiked it, twice.

It seriously sucks that this monstrosity now goes back to the House, where the margin will be razor thin, and where multiple Democratic seats are empty because the reps chose to try to hold onto power through the bitter end and die in office rather than retire.
