The Democrats spent a billion dollars trying to beat Trump in the election, but in the end Trump’s nemesis was a skilled litigator who also excelled at doing cable news TV panel shows and drafting sick burns on Twitter.

Wow. Someone is unhinged this morning. Flailing. No clear strategy. Desperate. No wonder he thinks Mr. Giuliani is doing such a bang-up job. #Basta

When people are being murdered and dismembered in broad daylight by random unprovoked attackers, something is very wrong. People don’t want to hear that everything is fine and we’re just noticing crime more often. Something has changed. Something is terribly wrong. #bcpoli

More bad news for the NDP: the turnout is shockingly high so far, and that is generally an indication that people are not happy with the status quo. BC set an all time record yesterday and smashed the previous one-day record by 36%! People are mad… #bcpoli #yyj

Yesterday 171,381 voters voted on the first day of advance voting. This is the most votes ever on an advance voting day in a BC election, beating the previous record of 126,491 in 2017. More details here elections.bc.ca/resources/resu… #bcpoli

He did better than I think a lot of people expected. His opponents tried to make people think he was a raving lunatic, but he was the most even-tempered person on the stage, albeit somewhat negative. He sounded authentic. That matters a lot. #bcpoli

Serious question: we know it gets hotter and drier for basically the rest of our lives due to climate change. Those advocating for bans on *going outside in summertime* in places like Nova Scotia, what’s your long term plan? If it’s bad now, it will be worse in 5 years. Are you

It really is sort of amazing watching our country fall flat on its face, hopelessly bound up in its own red tape, while trying to marginally increase the glacial speed at which anything gets done here… They really can’t see they are the problem, and always have been #bcpoli

Eby looked really shaken up earlier today at the presser. If it’s true that this guy was a serial participant in our province’s notoriously porous mental health system that failed to intervene before this tragedy struck, we might have a sense as to why. He would have been briefed

Hard to describe the feeling of seeing a $20-billion project shelved because of “political unrest” in a G7 country. That’s the sort of thing we’d expect to see in nations where governments have a tenuous hold on public order. We are deep down the rabbit hole, folks... wow.

Say goodbye to the BC Legislature mattering much if the NDP is permitted to put the power usually divided among all MLAs in the hands of one man to wield at a whim with cabinet orders. That isn’t the solution to Trump. That’s the threat he poses in the first place. Any MLA —

MLAs can cast votes from literal hospital beds, but today the Premier held a press conference to explain that requiring MLAs to cast votes is too cumbersome a requirement and he needs emergency powers to amend laws himself with executive orders. I don’t buy that and neither

The economic damage we suffered in the storm is still being significantly understated. Canada has no trade access to Pacific tidewater for the 1st time since the completion of the railroad. Each day of lost movement results in someone accruing a loss that is not recoverable.

I don’t want to alarm anyone, but some Newfoundland ridings that were projected to be either tossup or leaning Red on 338 are currently Blue… by a significant margin…
