- Of the 500 largest U.S. school districts, 37 are currently led by Black women. 13 of us are pictured below. I’m so grateful to be in community w/these women. The supt job can be lonely at times, but I’m reminded that we are never alone! Now, who’s joining us!? #WomenLeadingEd

- Being a Black superintendent can feel quite lonely (there are 8 of us in all of Indiana). But, this week, I talked with some of my Black elders, and I was reminded once again that I’m not alone. Grateful for those who’ve come before me continuing to pour into me. ❤️
- It’s disappointing that w/all school leaders have on our plates that we need to expend additional energy explaining why our funding should remain whole as previously communicated and yet...here we are. I share my thoughts in this @indystar piece.
- Celebrating 17 years of us today! More sunshine than rain. More mountains than valleys. More documented kissy faces than “I’m-not-so-sure-about-you” faces (I double-checked🤣). Thankful for my journey with this guy! ❤️
- Reposting...Because I’m walking this morning trying to release some of the heaviness on my heart. Because we must continue to say it. Because I’ve already had to send condolences to one of our families this school year. Because all our children deserve better. #BlackLivesMatter
GIF - I dreamt in such detail abt school reopening plans that I’m now trying to decipher which next steps were my dream & which we’ve actually named in real life🙃. I’m sure I’m not alone. To my fellow educators, THANK YOU for the all-consuming work you’re doing right now! #leadership
- “Mom, I really need my own desk since we’re going back to remote,” he said. “For real, Mom. It’ll really help me.” Oh, okay. 🙃
- My mom texted me a handwritten note she rec'vd from my HS French teacher today. This is the power of teachers. Beyond the work they do in the present to bring learning to life, they have the unique ability to remind us that we are seen & valued, even 25+ years later. Thank you.❤
