- #BlackHistoryMonth Fred "The Fox" Snowden, the first African-American head coach of a major college basketball program, hired by Arizona in 1972. He made Tucson a basketball town coaching a fast-paced, high-scoring style of play starting with the famed Kiddie Korps.

- Fifteen years ago today, one of the greatest in UA history, Shawntinice Polk, passed away before entering her senior season with the Wildcats. Only 22. In only three seasons, Polkey had 1,467 points, 914 rebounds & 222 blocks. She shot 57.5 percent from the floor. God bless her.
