My case against the Open University was due to be heard from Monday 24 Feb 2025. I'm pleased to say that the hearing is not now going ahead. Will post in more detail tomorrow. Meanwhile thank you so much to everyone who has supported me through this.

I wasn't even cancelled for actual "misgendering" @wil_da_beast630 . A senior academic at Europe's largest law school mused that I MIGHT misgender a law student 'given my stance'. Her speculation that I MIGHT misgender someone formed part of the case for my summary dismissal.

Alison, next time the Open University asks you for a donation, you might want to ask them this: Over the past 12 months, how much money has the OU spent on lawyers defending its unlawful practices towards dissenting students and academics? It must be way into the six figures.

After months of publicly vowing to fight this case all the way, 'vigorously' and 'robustly', months of claiming it could not wait for the truth to out in court, the OU has now paid good money to avoid truth outing in court. 2/26

The Open University must be liberated from its curriculum liberators. Its academic freedom problem needs to be addressed, for the benefit of all its members. And addressed it will be. I personally pledge to remain a critical friend to the OU in this regard until it is. 26/26

Why, the OU faithful will be asking, has the university decided to pay me an undisclosable amount of money to avoid a public airing of the facts, if what I said was not true? Surely that would be irrational and an irresponsible use of public funds. 11/26

In the court of law, their strategy looked to be an attempt to defeat the case by costing me out, by driving up the costs of this case to make it prohibitively expensive for me to pursue. 5/26
