Pauline Hanson’s One Nation & Ashton Hurn’s Liberals fighting over who can be the biggest opposition party of grievance. They talk about energy costs but when the time comes to release Australia’s energy, they oppose it.

Women’s participation also remains high, and a record number of women are in work. We know some Australians are doing it tough and we remain determined to create more jobs, lift wages and ensure people have the security and dignity they deserve at work.

Australians voted for higher wages at the last election and that’s what we are delivering. Today’s wages data shows that real wages have increased over the year to September - this marks 8 consecutive quaters of annual real wage growth.

We want Australians to earn more and keep more of what they earn. That’s what Labor is focused on - the Liberal Party is only focussed on themselves.

These jobs figures were driven by a strong increase in full-time employment, which means that more Australians are getting the hours they’re looking for.

    Replying to @AmandaRishworth
The Bill introduces a new principle into the Fair Work Act that unless employers and employees have expressly agreed otherwise, employer-funded paid parental leave must not be cancelled because a child is stillborn or dies.

I want to pay heartfelt tribute to Baby Priya and Baby Priya’s parents and family, whose courageous advocacy had helped ensure that no other family would have to endure what they went through.

The Fair Work Amendment (Baby Priya’s) Bill 2025 has just passed the House of Reps. It’s named after Baby Priya who heartbreakingly died when she was just 42 days old.

After informing her employer that her child had passed away, Priya’s mum was faced with negotiating with her employer about a return to work she hadn’t planned for at the same time as grieving the loss of her child.
