- Rewatching NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN for the billionth time and realized the only character to defeat Chigurh is:
it’s insane that having empathy is becoming a political liability for so many americans- One of my favorite things I’ve seen on here. I think about it all the time.
is there a specific post that you still think about - I’ve posted about it before, but Barbara Tuchman’s A DISTANT MIRROR is one the best books I’ve ever owned. It’s a history of 14th century Europe, but also something far more than that: a fever dream of an apocalyptic future. You read it thinking, “Could this happen again?”
- I think viewers tend to over-interpret Kubrick, but I saw this on here the other day, and I’m still pondering it:
- Replying to @AmericanGwynHaving met this character in many incarnations when I was growing up in Oklahoma and Texas, I can affirm that she is indestructible and will not give out no information (or pens). Don’t make her have to count out change, neither.
- Replying to @AmericanGwynThese women are the REAL power in Oklahoma and Texas. They might have “bosses,” but they run things. Be polite and remember their names. If you bring them something nice from your garden, they will never forget you. Befriending one of them is better than buying off six senators.
- People I respect said WICKED is actually very good, so I went to see it. Here is my review:
