Push-ups are a good way to train your upper body at home, but training your back is a little harder if you don’t have equipment. Here’s a few things you can do at home while you’re exiled from the gym 👇👇👇

Big fan of these prone chain drags for pitchers. Core strength, thoracic rotation, shoulder strength, scapular stability/mobility. Lots of boxes checked.

Interested to see how the results differ from 2 years ago when I initially posted this. Seems like the drop step/directional step is gaining traction these days

I’m not 100% sure what that towel drill is supposed to do but I can guarantee it’s 100% a waste of time

I hate to break it to you but sport-specific training is absolutely a thing, and if you say you’d use the exact same program to train a baseball pitcher as you would a speed skater then you’re either dumb or being purposely obtuse to make a misguided point.

A 100% accurate method for determining a high school athlete's max squat: 1) Ask how much they squat 2) Multiply that by 0.75 3) Subtract 25 4) Ask them if they squat to depth. If they say "I go to 90," subtract 25. If they don't understand what "depth" means, subtract 50.

Sport coaches - randomly making your players do things like wall sits, burpees, and 3+ minute planks while in-season will not make them any stronger, I promise you. It’s far more likely to make them fatigued and less effective in competition.

Unpopular S&C opinion: I absolutely hate “snap downs” and I consider them a huge waste of time. They don’t mimic actual jumping or landing mechanics during sport, they aren’t high enough in intensity to build eccentric strength, and they create weird arm swing timing issues.

One thing I love about our gym is that when somebody hits a new PR there’s no jumping around, screaming, fake/exaggerated excitement, etc. Making progress is expected, and ultimately we all know that the time to get excited is when you succeed in the field in an actual game.

Athlete: Why am I not getting any bigger and stronger from this lifting program? Me: Have you made it to every scheduled training session? A: No M: Have you been hitting your calorie and protein goals daily? A: No M: Well, I’ve got a few theories on your lack of progress.

ESPN thinks that a gluten-free diet has resulted in increased core strength for Carson Wentz, somehow. Um... what?

The only context in which this situation would make sense is if it were from a @MadLibs book. I went to [THE POOL] and [LIFTED WEIGHTS] while wearing [AN ELEVATION MASK].

Single leg strength is HUGE for baseball pitchers. Putting force into ground and stabilizing hip joint are 🔑 components of throwing velocity.
