    Her Majesty #TheQueen arrived in #Edinburgh this afternoon for #RoyalWeek & was welcomed at The Ceremony of The Keys in #Holyroodhouse by F Coy @scots_guards & their Pipes and Drums as the Guard of Honour, and music by @SCOTSband. She was accompanied by Maj Gen @AlastairBruce_

    Over a hundred soldiers from F Coy @scots_guards normally based @ArmyInLondon have been practicing their world famous drill in front of the #PalaceofHolyroodHouse in preparation for HM #TheQueen arriving in #Edinburgh for #RoyalWeek. @RoyalFamily @Householddiv @AlastairBruce_

    At Edinburgh Castle, the British Army marked the first anniversary of His Majesty The King’s accession to the throne with a traditional gun salute. At 12 noon @105RegtRA fired a 21 Gun Salute, supported by @scotsband.

    The British Army in Scotland were represented by the @RoyalRegimentofScotland as the Stone of Destiny began its journey to the Coronation. #3 SCOTS, provided a guard and Colour Sergeant James Muir, Pipe Major 3 SCOTS, played as the Stone left the Great Hall @EdinburghCastle

    The Army in Scotland today bid a fond farewell to Major General Alastair Bruce of Crionaich OBE DL VR as he went out with a ‘bang’ firing the iconic One O’clock Gun and taking his final Salute, as Governor of Edinburgh Castle. Although the Royal Gun Salute, at Edinburgh Castle
    A gun fires during the salute, it has smoke and fire coming out of the barrel.
    The Gunners are marching through Edinburgh Castle to the Gun line.
    Major General Bruce is inspecting his Gunners after the Salute has fired.
    Major General Bruce is holding up his hands in happiness after the event.

    The Army is pleased to announce that the next Governor of Edinburgh Castle will be Brigadier Alastair Bruce of Crionaich OBE VR DL, who will take over this historic role, on promotion to Major General, from Major General Mike Riddell-Webster CBE DSO in summer 2019.@AlastairBruce_

    His Majesty The King presented the New Ballater Colour to the Royal Guard, BKA Coy @The_SCOTS. The Ballater Colour is a ceremonial Colour, carried by the Royal Guard during Summer Court in Balmoral. In attendance was General Officer Scotland and Commander 51 Infantry Brigade.
