I can not stop sobbing. Black lives matter because only a black man would be pulled over at gun point for MISSING A STOP SIGN. His 90 year old grandmother has fully broken me. WHEN IS THIS ENOUGH #blacklivesmatter

- Fun fact. For the wedding, Chyler had production keep us apart all morning so the first time she saw me was when I walked down the aisle 🥺🥺❤️❤️❤️
- While this superhero, character, & my process of writing her debut represents many ‘firsts’... the one I’m most proud of is cultural: The first Ethiopian or Eritrean superhero EVER! 🦸🏾♀️🇪🇷🇪🇹
- Kelly Olsen is an intersectionally marginalized character. Black, gay, and a woman. She is important. And I feel honored to play her. I will fight harder for her and the visibility of these characters in media. I hear you all. And I take it very personally ❤️ Love you guys 🥰
- My mom immigrated to this country & always wanted to open her own Ethiopian restaurant. This was her life long dream, but instead she sacrificed everything. In my first tv writing episode, my character walks out of an Ethiopian restaurant, with my mom’s name on it. Selamawit ❤️
- There is a spectrum of racism. And today we see, it starts with Amy Cooper and ends with George Floyd. It is ALL toxic. The next time a black person tells you of racism believe them. Don’t ask for proof, ask how to help, and stand by their side in that change. #BlackLivesMatter
